Today we’d like to introduce you to Ingrid Campbell.
Hi Ingrid, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I always needed balance in my career. I’ve worked for over 20 + years in Information Technology for many federal government agencies in the Washington DC area. Before COVID I lived in the Fort Lauderdale area and Washington DC metro area and still worked remotely during the COVID pandemic.
For many years, I worked part-time as a freelance Makeup Artist for Bobbi Brown cosmetics and MAC cosmetics.
Since I grew up in New England and S. California during my childhood years, I always loved the beach. As I got older, I enjoyed traveling to many tropical destinations.
The beach is where I find peace and serenity and of course, I’ve always loved to collect bathing suits. My Blue Topaz Swimwear journey started last year in June 2021. I posted a photo of myself on the beach in swimwear on IG, the photo went viral on social media. A designer reached out to me after seeing my photo on IG. She asked if I was interested in being an ambassador or a model for her brand.
I mentioned the conversation to an associate and her words to me were, “You can be an ambassador for your own brand and model your own swimwear!” Last year in June 2021, I decided to start my project of starting my own swimwear business.
That’s exactly what I accomplished on April 4, 2022! My swimwear is a fit for all! I want to make sure Blue Topaz Swimwear provide everyone with a sense of feeling absolutely comfortable in their skin.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
It’s been almost two months and I can honestly say, it’s been a great time!
I had one issue with the outsourcing company that I decided to work with for delivery services but after that challenge, I immediately began working with a different company.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
My greatest professional achievements are providing excellent successful professional Information Technology support for 20 + years to various federal government agencies in the National Capitol.
My favorite agency was providing support to the NASA Space Agency. I received various awards of recognition and provided mentorship leadership to college/student outreach programs and various great projects.
I’m pretty excited about Blue Topaz Swimwear, my long-term goal was to have my swimwear featured in Miami Swim week 2023!! Guess what, Blue Topaz Swimwear will be featured in Miami Swim week Art Basel this December 2022!!!
Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
I was very determined, outgoing, and easygoing. My favorite hobby is rollerskating and spending a lot of time at the beach.
