We recently had the chance to connect with Caro Tejada and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Caro, thank you so much for joining us today. We’re thrilled to learn more about your journey, values and what you are currently working on. Let’s start with an ince breaker: Have any recent moments made you laugh or feel proud?
Yes! This month (June 2025), I was so happy to celebrate my 17 year old daughter’s highschool graduation! Camila graduated with honors and will be attending The University of Florida with a full scholarship! And who knows maybe she can become a Florida Gator cheerleader. Camila makes me so proud day in and day out. She is beautiful not only on the outside, but on the inside which is what matters most. The best daughter, the best friend. An all around wonderful human being. My daughter is the beat of my heart.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I am a visual artist and creative director. My medium is acrylic on canvas. “The blue robot” I created a while back and is now is an art project that promotes mental health awareness. I focus my artistic practice, efforts and initiatives on principles of renewal and regeneration. Last month I launched a mental health awareness campaign via specially designed pins to show support to our cause.
Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. What breaks the bonds between people—and what restores them?
The bond between people is broken because of confusion. The restoration between people happens when our minds and hearts are aligned. I firmly believe this world needs more education of the spirit. Starting with our children, the next generation of leaders. If we can educate their hearts and minds at an early age; they can potentially lead parting from a common ground. Which is all we need to get rid confusion.
Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
If crying myself to sleep countless times is almost giving up then yes. I have personally struggled so much all my life. I struggled with the mental illness in my family. An illness that brought much confusion and misery to all of us. But I never ever fully gave up. I had it in me to put up a fight against it. I didn’t want mental illness to be my legacy. I prayed, I went to therapy, I created art. In doing so I resolved that peace would be my legacy.
Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. What’s a belief or project you’re committed to, no matter how long it takes?
My art. It is my goal to bring mental health awareness via my paintings and my art project: Hope the Blue Robot. I am fully committed to my art no matter how long it takes me. I believe that by creating a community around mental health and the living arts; we can collectively shift our consciousness to a higher level. We have the power to create a new spirit of the age, a new way of living, a renewal, a rebirth, a regeneration. The only thing we need to do is to find a common ground. This is my life’s work.
Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: Are you doing what you were born to do—or what you were told to do?
I am doing what I was born to do. To create art. I can do office work, I love corporate jobs. I traveled the country 18 years working as a spokesmodel for Toyota. I am also a commercial realtor licensed in Florida. But now, in this moment in my life, I am fully committed to doing what I was born to do; to create art.
