Today we’d like to introduce you to Cliff Neptune.
Karim Ghoneim (born October 2, 1986), known professionally as Cliff Neptune, is an American singer, songwriter, dancer and actor. He was born in Neptune City, New Jersey, U.S., but raised in Italy.
As a child, he recognized his great interest in everything that surrounded music. Eventually, Cliff began to take his first steps along with Michael Jackson’s “Billie Jean” and “Thriller.” It soon became an obsession. At the age of nine, he had the “Moonwalk” down to perfection and was soon to be introduced to the world of Hip Hop & R&B. As a result of his passion, everything surrounding Cliff Neptune increases his love and desire for music and dance. Inspired by artists such as Michael Jackson, Craig David, Jay Sean, Joe Thomas, Marques Houston, and others.
Coming from a mixed ethnic background; Egypt, Morocco, and France, Cliff had gained inspiration from different cultures. He speaks English, Arabic, French, Italian and Spanish, which enhance his way of writing songs.
In 2009, he released his first single “I Need 2 Cry Tonight.”
In 2014, he was featured with Master Freeze in “The Light” Produced by Dj Naps.
In January 2016, he moved back to the U.S. to continue pursuing a career in the music industry. While working as a sales associate in luxury retail in Miami he was investing his free time in writing and recording in different studios to find the sound that suits him best. During this time, he established friendships with different people from the music scene bringing his music to a professional level.
In 2017, in collaboration with Skio Music, he remixed Jay Sean’s “Make My Love Go” feat. Sean Paul giving the song an Arabic flavor.
In 2018, acclaimed audio engineer Vincent “Vinny D” DeLeon (who has worked with artists such as FrenchMontana, TheWeeknd, LilYachty, JBalvin, BadBunnypr & more) brings Cliff and Vinny Venditto (Multi-Grammy Award winning & 9x Platinum Music Producer) together. This partnership will lead to a fusion of futuristic tropical and dark r&b inspired sounds.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Being an independent artist requires a lot of effort and not only economically but mentally. I am always focused on the target no matter what. Also, I learned how to make sure the people around me are not there just to take but also to give.
Success is not easy but definitely is not impossible.
The biggest challenge is to push me not to overthink and follow my intuition.

Please tell us more about your work, what you are currently focused on and most proud of.
On My Own is a song that I wrote inspired by the important lessons I learned from failed relationships
When I say “Let bygones be bygones, I might hate you more, but I’ll never love you less.”
I mean it… cuz we’ll always keep the people we loved in our hearts, but if things can’t work out, then we only have to be realistic and move on even if it’s hard.
I like the fact that people recognize me as a true songwriter and have a connection with my songs not just listen to the melody or the beat because it’s dope.
I love music, in general, because music is what you make it so at the end of the day your favorite music… is the one you like.
I think being free to say something like in a song makes you undeniably free to express your thoughts, feelings, and opinions.
I don’t wanna just reach people with my music, I don’t want to just entertain them, but I want to be an inspiration for my generation and the next… you know make a difference and leave a mark.
I want people to always remember and believe that everything is possible.
In 2019, I am releasing new songs, you will catch good new vibes, a new concept, a new Cliff.
How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
The music industry is one of the most fast-paced industries about constantly developing. It has a wide variety, so it’s an industry for all.
I think music is evolving unceasingly and with it, everything that surrounds the entertainment industry.
