Meet Jack Anderson

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jack Anderson.

Jack, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I am a photographer based in West Palm Beach. I began taking picture’s around December of 2018 and I have loved it ever since. I think photography really gave me the chance to tell stories through pictures and visuals that I wouldn’t be able to give through speech. Since getting my first camera, I’ve been obsessed with capturing moments and sharing things that people might not be able to see in their everyday life.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
For me, it has definitely not been a smooth road. As a photographer, you’re constantly trying to keep a creative state of mind in everything you do. But, there are times where it feels like you just can’t find a string of creativity in your mind. It feels like you are constantly looking for an answer but for a time being, you cannot find it. Also, there are times when you start to question everything you do. You start to think “Will people like this?” “What will happen if I stay true to who I am and no one likes it?”, it’s in those moments when you really hit a low state of mind and where I tend to struggle a lot of the times.

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Jack Anderson Photography – what should we know?
So at the moment, I am a freelance photographer in West Palm. I love taking pictures of concerts, portraits, or just my friends and I exploring and messing around. However, out of those three, I would say that I really lean towards concert photography. Since I really love music and telling stories, concerts are such a perfect opportunity for both of those things. I love the cool lights and loud music that you just can’t really get anywhere else other than at a concert. I would say my work stands out from other people’s because I am super interested in other people’s stories. So I like to try to take the same feeling that I’m getting from someone’s story and compress that into images so that I could share their story with other people.

What is your favorite childhood memory?
My favorite memory from my childhood was when my friends and I would have a massive neighborhood game of hide and seek. The games would consist of about 15-20 of my best friends and we would play throughout our entire neighborhood. We would go to all the houses in the community and ask if their kids wanted to play with us. We would make massive tournaments around it and we would constantly play through the night. Looking back at it, it really shows my childish self in which I loved to explore and be creative in all of my hiding spots, but also it started a pathway to all of my friendships to which I still keep today.
