Today we’d like to introduce you to Matt Sabarillo.
Every artist has a unique story. Can you briefly walk us through yours?
I’ve always been a creative person, but I never thought about pursuing a career as an artist. When I was in middle school, my art teacher came up to me and said: “Matt you have a gift, one day you’ll be an amazing artist”. I never really let that sink in being a teenager, but looking back at it now my projects were always picked to be showcased or were considered one of the best of the class. I am a self-taught artist born in Toronto Canada, raised in South Florida. I strive to create timeless art by thinking “Out of The Box” and being different/original using many types of mixed media.
Please tell us about your art.
My style is very different and unique because I don’t like to stick to one medium. I have a wide range of artwork that is completely different from one another. I strive to create timeless artwork that all ages can enjoy and appreciate.
I like to create pieces that are different from what has been done and ultimately wows people. The reactions and appreciation for my work is what keeps me going.
We often hear from artists that being an artist can be lonely. Any advice for those looking to connect with other artists?
I normally like to go to art events and art walks to meet new artists and to network. Sometimes it’s healthy to go out and let your brain be free from always thinking and creating. Going to these events can help you and most likely inspire you as an artist.
