Today we’d like to introduce you to Arlyn Guzman.
Arlyn Guzman was born in Massachusetts and raised in Puerto Rico. She now lives in Florida and is an active part of the acting, modeling and promotions/marketing industry.
Arlyn is an avid fitness enthusiast and has a deep passion for her careers in acting and modeling. Arlyn has been modeling since her teenage years and discovered her love for acting in high school.
Some of the highlights of her modeling career include both runway and print work collaborating with numerous photographers such as: DutchMasterz Entertainment, Bridgebolt Photography, K Link Photography, A Glow Photography, Art Cabell Photography, Dawn Gray Photography, Gary Gray Photography, Antonio Martez Photography, Best Light Images, JLR Photography, Images in Paradise Photography, AK Photography, Glen Acord Photography and many more.
However, her greatest achievement as a model was giving back to the community by mentoring young teenage Hispanic girls from low-income households and/or broken households whom needed moral support and the building of self-esteem. Arlyn managed to do this by providing them with the tools and skills to succeed as runway models, pageant contestants, speaking in public and how to work a camera as a print model; but above all she provided them with the gift of love, hope, and understanding to see beyond the present by envisioning a successful future.
Arlyn’s success became more apparent as an actress; her confidence and drive to succeed has landed her re-occurring roles in “The Glades” as an FHP Officer, “Graceland” as FBI Tac Team and “Burn Notice” featured FDLE. She has been blessed to book principal roles in commercials and work on numerous jobs as a background actor as well as helping fellow colleagues and students with there personal productions. She learned early on that using her knowledge and image was a stepping stone to giving back to the community by uniting with local Zumba instructors and helping them create and promote Zumbathons for several non-profit organizations and causes.
Her multitasking skills and ambition to learn more allowed Arlyn to seek her potential behind the camera as a producer and director. Her skills and talent are visible within her productions and co-productions: “One Moment Web Series”, “Fix and Clean”, Melia Morgan “If You Knew Me”, Melia Morgan “How Do You Get Over”, “Interview For A Cause” and live events such as “Festival de la Moda” and “Festival de la Primavera.”
In 2015, Arlyn finally accomplished her lifelong dream by becoming self-employed as an independent contractor in the promotions/marketing industry. Now she is free to create her schedule, travel the world, have time for her loved ones and that precious me time while still pursuing her love of the arts.
Arlyn is always looking for future opportunities that allow display of her talents and collaborating with like-minded people on positive business ventures.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
“A life without obstacles is a life without growth!” I have a spirit of a warrior and my strength and determination to succeed has no limitations. My inspiration is my Mother, my cornerstone and my faith in God. Being the head of household providing for mother and I; as well as helping other family members hasn’t been easy.
Overall, I wouldn’t change my life. It has made me whom I am, and when I look in the mirror I love what I see and all that I have accomplished. I learned to work 72 hours with no sleep just to be on set as an actress or complete a photo shoot and still provide financially by working my full-time job. I am amazing at keeping a budget and still enjoy life.
I started the hustle early in life by always keeping to my books and maintaining a GPA of 3.50 and above at 11 years old in Puerto Rico in return I would get a government grant of $125.00 for the year, and that is how I would buy my clothing and school supplies for the year.
By the time I turned 14, I started working summer programs to bring in the income to get me through school. It was all worth it in the long run because I learned to value what hard earned money meant as well as learning that money isn’t everything in life but yet it is needed. With that said I will always stay humble at heart.
We’d love to hear more about what you do.
I am an independent contractor. I work as an Actress, Print Life Style Model, Bilingual Promotional Specialist/Model, Field Manager, and Tour Management.
Recently I have been able to visit several states as a Tour Manager representing different brands. Traveling brings wisdom to the soul. I have seen the beauty of nature to the poverty within our country, but the most important part of all the tours is bringing a smile to everyday people and to the less fortunate.
Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
My parents would go fishing, and I would be feeding the ducks around the lake. I was probably five-seven years old at the time. That lake is where I took my first Polaroid picture, and it was of my parents.
