Today we’d like to introduce you to Steve Morgan.
Steve Morgan, born and raised in Miami, Florida and lived here my whole life; only taking a few years to tour the world with my rock and roll band, Stellar Revival. I have been called the “modern day renaissance man” due to my extremely diverse background and the many things I am involved in at once.
I hold two Master’s Degrees, one in Computer Engineering, and one in Business; which I have used to focus on a thriving career in “Ethical Hacking,” also known as Cyber-Security. Along with my career in this niche industry, I also own and operate a Music Recording Studio, play guitar for a touring band, developed a real-estate application.
I got to where I am today by extreme discipline, time-management skills, and involving myself on things I am passionate about. I believe in making use of time as efficiently as possible, and not wasting efforts or energy on things outside of my circle of influence. Also, staying positive, being optimistic, and expanding my personal network of friends and peers whenever I can.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
When it comes to my music career, it has been faced with many obstacles. I started playing guitar when I was 13 years old, and have had almost a dozen different bands before landing success with my current one. The “music” part of the “music business” has always been the driving force behind my pursuit. But, peoples egos and the cut-throat nature of the entertainment industry has been very turbulent.
In my career, I’ve had everything happen from being betrayed by best friends and record labels, all the way to being physically attacked and hospitalized by ex-band members. I actually had a singer in an older band come back to my recording studio late a night to steal my equipment, only to leave me unconscious on the floor after being beaten. If not for the passion of the art, I think most people would have given up under such adversity.
For the career in Computer Security, its seem to come to me easy. It takes a special type of brain to comprehend how to “hack.” If you have the gift, and the motivation, it is easy to make your mark. I’ve always had job opportunities that pay well and learned a lot from working at many different companies in the Technology, Financial, Utilities, and Hospitality sectors.
SteveDoingShit – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
My personal brand “Steve Doing Shit,” began as an Instagram Handle to an influential marketing tag-line. Most people in this day make excuses about not having enough time, or enough money or enough connections to make their dreams come true. When I get to know someone, they always ask “How do you have so much time to do all this?” My brand is meant to inspire others, to meet their challenges head-on, not make excuses, and just “Do Shit.”
Along with following my story, I want people to know that we can make an impact on our own destiny. Focus on your goals and passions, and cut away the excess fat that is a waste of time. I try to set an example for others to learn from and inspire that with my lifestyle. Everything from Business, to Parties, to Rock and Roll, to Events, to sports, to family quality time; I show it all. I’m proud to set that example and guide others how they can take control of their life, to live it to its full potential.
What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
My proudest moment was when my band played along-side the legendary band Bon Jovi. He has always been an inspiration for me musically, and the fact we were selected to perform with them on their tour in 2017 was incredible.
