Meet Bill Glazer of Glam Sparkle n’ Glitz & Get Waisted

 

Today we’d like to introduce you to Bill Glazer.

In college, Bill drove a taxi on the weekends and ran the shipping department of a national retailer during the week.  Upon graduation from the University of Massachusetts, Bill joined that same national retailer as a district manager, and after years of hard work, operating stores in Boston, Houston and San Francisco, Bill was promoted to the corporate office as a member of the buying team, merchandising the nationwide chain. Climbing quickly, Bill was eventually promoted to Group President, overseeing 800 stores, with $1 Billion sales annually.

Today, Bill is the co-founder of Glam Sparkle n’ Glitz, a fashion retail store located in Lauderdale-by-the-Sea, Florida, and the founder of Get Waisted – The Unfanny Fanny Pack.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
In business, nothing is ever a “smooth road” – the greatest challenges and struggles in today’s business environment is to stand-out.

In a brick and motor retail environment (Glam Sparkle n’ Glitz), merchandise is everything. We design, develop and manufacture a good percentage of our offerings.

In the item business (Get Waisted), it is difficult to get noticed by the masses. Social Media and online exposure is a must. But controlling and protecting your item is as important as what the actual item is.

Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
I always say……… “it is better to be lucky, than smart.” But it doesn’t hurt if you have a good business background with a creative mind.
