Today we’d like to introduce you to Juan Bustos.
Juan, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I’m from Colombia and came here to the United States three years ago, I decided to move here to have a better quality of life.
I’m graduated from the Bellas Artes University in 2014 in the city of Cartagena de Indias.
When I moved here, I started painting houses. LOL! I don’t feel ashamed telling you this because I love to work, and my parents taught me to get my own things with effort and dedication.
I also started to offer my services as a graphic designer to family members and friends. Now, I have started my official business in graphic designing, and I have acquired vast knowledge and experience in digital arts and printing.
I want to add that I’m partnered with Fantasea Media for their print production.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Well, life is no easy, pero sabrosa! Lol!
I felt the struggle by having to move to another country, another city, and another culture.
We know the percent of Latin people in Miami is huge but is completely different in comparison to my city back home.
I needed to learn about the customs, culture, language, and slang used here in Miami.
My first language is Spanish and being honest my English is not perfect, but I’m trying, it’s all part of the process and I continue learning every day.
At the end of the day, every day is a learning experience.
Please tell us about Juandalavi Graphic Design INC.
I offer graphic design services and I have experience, in the printing process, I think the key is the people who you collaborate with.
I’ve already mentioned that I am partnered with Fantasea Media; I do all sorts of graphics including web custom graphics, banner design, apparel, and even vehicle wraps. Under my brand NegroFarto, I work on social media graphics and act as a brand ambassador for companies that choose to partner with me.
We also have a program called Piu.crafts which consists of Reusing and Recycling some leftover materials to create handicrafts and gifts. You can find us on Instagram @piu.crafts.
If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
That God’s time is perfect. So now, this is my moment, maybe at the beginning, I wasn’t prepared to create a business and work for other companies.
Now, I have the experience, foundation and I’m always busy. (Which I love!)
