Today we’d like to introduce you to Rey Lozano.
Rey, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I have been an artist since the age of 14 years old. It is what I have always wanted to do and be. As well, I have worked professionally as an artist for over 35 years. Working in South Florida has given me a vast array of motivation and inspiration, as seen in my artwork. I have had the clientele for both residential and commercial work projects, and have continued working with many of them through the years. Working in all kinds of mixed media involving my acrylic paints and vibrant colors is my staple work. My artwork has comprised of wall & building murals, artistic hand-painted furniture, faux & artistic finishes, and canvases of both traditional and non-traditional cuts and shapes. I always use acrylic paints of vibrant colors, clay molded textures, and stones & decorative accents for embellishments.
In addition to working with my clients, I participate in art shows and exhibitions with both my art pieces and installments throughout the year. I love doing what I do and incorporating art into the daily lives of my customers.
Has it been a smooth road?
As with any entrepreneurial job, there are slow times in business. During these slower times, it is difficult to keep your artwork going. However, there are those very lucrative and busy times that make up for the lulls.
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Rey Lozano Art story. Tell us more about the business.
I have done a vast array of art forms with acrylic paints. However, recently I have been focusing on my canvas line that uses uniquely shaped canvases, clay textures, and molds, and stone and accent embellishments. I have had my canvas line exhibited in the Studio 18 of Pembroke Pines art shows, art walks from Palm Beach to Miami, and many art shows. As well, I have my artistic hand-painted furniture that I sell both locally and online. In both lines, I use bold and vibrant colors and design.
How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
Florida has become a very influential hub for art enthusiasts and a very large forum for art venues. I see my business reaching to even further heights and the industry of art creating a growing and increasing as the population has learned even more appreciation for the craft.
