Life and Work with Natasha Borras

Today we’d like to introduce you to Natasha Borras.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Natasha. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
The city of Miami has had a big impact on my work and who I am today. I was born and raised here, and I come from a Spanish and Cuban background, so there was always a lot of diversity in my family. And because the cultures are so rich with so many strong personalities, I’ve been lucky enough to have been surrounded by creative influences from a very young age. I think in large part this is why I was always inclined toward the arts.

I’ve seen Miami grow before my eyes to what it is now, and I truly love everything this city has to offer. It wasn’t until my first summer in the Hamptons, however, that I realized just how much I loved one thing in particular – rosé. I visited one of the local vineyards and grew an understanding of the process of making rosé. I made it my mission from that moment on to learn everything there was to know about rosé. The more I learned, the more excited I became at the prospect of sharing my knowledge with other people – especially the people back in my home city. And that’s how Rosé and Slay was born.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
The hardest thing at first was to leave the comforts of a steady job to start something brand new. I had worked in a law office for years, and I think sometimes it is very easy to become a prisoner of your own routines. Once I finally made the decision to follow my passion, I think my greatest struggle was then overcoming my own insecurities. There are so many talented women out there on social media these days. It’s easy to compare yourself to others and feel like you just don’t match up. Like what you have to say isn’t as good or important. Believe me, there were plenty of times when I would think to myself, “This is silly. Who really cares about rosé?”

But you just have to start somewhere and be confident in what you are doing. If it takes off, then great. And if not, that’s okay too. At least, you can say that you dared to be different.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Rosé and Slay – tell our readers more, for example, what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
So, of course, at the forefront of Rosé and Slay is my love for rosé wine (which is in the midst of a major comeback by the way). I want to educate people about this great drink and give as many tips and suggestions as I can be based on my own experiences. But aside from being solely a rosé-centered blog, Rosé and Slay promote a lifestyle. And Miami creates the perfect setting for that lifestyle. This city is full of places to see and be seen, and endless amounts of new locales to explore. Whether you’re trying out a hidden gem of a restaurant, slaying outfits, or lounging poolside wearing your favorite bikini (sipping on rosé of course) – this blog encompasses all that this city has to offer and more. Rosé and Slay provide readers with my take on fashion, beauty, food, and travel. In addition, I offer my readers a ‘Miami Guide’ to some of the many happenings that are going on in this magical city. Rosé and Slay is a place where I provide insight and tips to encourage people to step outside of their comfort zones and try new things.

Are there any apps, books, podcasts or other resources that you’ve benefited from using?
It’s so corny, but I think the best advice I can give is to pursue your passion. If there is something that you like doing, and something you want to share with the world, then that is what you should do. The most rewarding feeling is being able to wake up in the morning and do something fulfilling. Something that excites you and gives you energy. It won’t always be easy, but it will always be worth it. And the real beauty is that it’s never too late to follow your dreams. Find what makes you happy and go chase after it!
