Today we’d like to introduce you to Anthony Capra.
Anthony, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
In 2016 I had the opportunity to start a non-profit organization. With little to no knowledge on how a non-profit worked, I accepted the challenge and dove right in. 14ALL41 (One 4 All, All 4 One) non-profit organization was created to make a difference in the lives of those in need. Our aim is to empower, build confidence, and raise self-esteem. Through different projects and donations we are fortunate enough to help out vast causes. I will never forget the day I received the call that we became official. I was super professional on the phone but the minute I hung up I began singing and dancing like a madman. Not even a minute later I went on the computer and started emailing over 200 different charities and causes. I wanted to be a sponge, so I could learn all there was to know about directing an organization.
Out of the 200 emails, only five got back to me, four were robots and one was a man in Peru. The man in Peru was named Jim Killon of Changes for New Hope, an organization based out of Huaraz. In the email Jim invited me to Peru to help the children of the Andes with various donations/aid. Without any hesitation I decided to book my ticket. While booking my ticket, my mind was racing with millions of different thoughts. I thought about how my family would react, where was I going to sleep, is this guy Jim real or am I being cat fished. After convincing my family that I wasn’t going through a midlife crisis, I began accepting donations for my trip. I was in awe and so proud of everyone that were willing to help out and donate. After only two weeks of gathering donations I made my way to Huaraz. After a six hour plane ride and an eight hour bus ride, I had finally made it. In Peru, Jim and I traveled all over Huaraz. Visiting children and families on the highest mountains to the lowest valleys. The five days I spent there, I watched and learned everything Jim was doing. The trip to Peru taught me so much, it was phenomenal and solidified my purpose/passion in life.
Not long after returning from Peru, the country of Haiti was devastated by a hurricane. Instantly I began accepting donations of any kind to ship over and help out those in need. After a month, my home was completely full and time wasn’t in my favor. Trying to find a way to ship the donations was rough. Each person I spoke with didn’t seem very knowledgeable on where the donations were going to end up. I’ll never forget the night my girlfriend asked “Now what? Are you going to sleep on the donations?”. I answered with “I’ll take them there myself if I have to.” That same night I went to bed and prayed for over 4 hours, falling asleep with a feeling of assurance. Waking up the next morning I felt confident something would happen. That same afternoon I ran into a man I hadn’t seen in years. While catching up he told me how he was on his way to pick up his father from the airport. His father was visiting from Haiti, where he lives majority of the time. His father is Pastor Enoch Deroseney who runs the Good Samaritan Project (G.S.P) in Grand Goâve, Haiti. Pastor Enoch not only runs G.S.P but works with those in need all over Haiti. After speaking with Pastor Enoch later that night, I knew he was the person I was meant to meet. He helped me get all the donations to where they needed to be. I even traveled with him back to Haiti and helped distribute all of the donations. 2016 was a year I’ll never forget. It was life changing.
Has it been a smooth road?
I’ve earned every gray hair on my head and like to believe it’s a sign of wisdom. I’ve learned a lot about myself, about being/staying mindful and that fear is only a word (except when it comes to snakes). It takes faith, hope and a lot of love to get things done. The journey teaches you a lot about the destination. Life is nothing but time and every moment matters. Each moment both good and bad have made the process a lesson. It hasn’t been smooth by any means but nothing great comes easy.
We’d love to hear more about your business.
14ALL41 (One 4 All, All 4 One) is a 501c3 non-profit organization, working to empower and bring the best out of the world. Diverse projects bring out new goals and help us branch out to new places. We work together to bring the best out of not only each other but each cause. Every project we’ve done has taken unity and everyone coming together for a greater purpose. Our aim to spread love will never change. By helping others we are not only assisting those in need but allowing our own light to shine and unconsciously giving others permission to do the same. By giving back we look to not only inspire the present but also the future generations to come. Our goal is to leave a legacy of hope, compassion and selflessness that will light a fire that burns forever.
Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
I am lucky to be a first generation American. My grandparents came from Italy and Cuba with aspirations to provide their families with opportunity. I’m lucky to be where I am and never take that for granted. I’m lucky to have a superhero that instilled faith, strength and love into my heart. I have the privilege to call that superhero my mom. I also got lucky five years ago and met a girl that completely changed my life. That girl is my girlfriend Kaitlan (I know it’s spelt weird), she’s been my biggest critic and my number one supporter. Both of these women bring the best out of me every single day. I’m extremely lucky to be surrounded by an amazing group of family and friends. I LOVE YOU ALL. God has played a meaningful role in my life and business. I pray continuously and make sure to put the action behind my prayer. I believe destiny has brought me to where I am. I’ve truly been blessed beyond belief. Much love.
