In 2017, two young women in Miami realized they both had been hearing the same complaint from their clients; their closets simply had no more room, and they wished they could make some extra money off of their luxury pieces that they no longer wore. Upon this realization, they both decided that it was time to develop an easy way for their clients to sell their pre-owned luxury pieces, and earn commissions that were fair and paralleled the quality of the items they were going to sell. With Daniella’s background of over 10 years in marketing and business management combined with Candice’s background of over 15 collective years in luxury retail, Designer Haven was born.
Designer Haven is a premier online boutique that specializes in renting, owning, and sharing certified, new and pre-loved luxury items. They were founded in Miami, FL, which is the perfect city for their boutique to begin. Miami’s convergence of cultures and diversity not only translates to its people, but also to its fashion. They feel they can offer fashion enthusiasts around the world a different assortment than other comparable companies by offering more than just consignment. With a combination of their innovative Rental Program and Monthly Subscription Program, they strive to be the new wave of luxury retail.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
One of the biggest challenges we have faced has to do with the development of our website and it currently not having the capacity to handle high traffic generated from our marketing campaigns. Luckily we have a beautiful, new site that we will be launching this October and will be the same URL as we currently have
www.shopdesignerhaven.com.
Another struggle has been making ourselves known in a crowded market. To differentiate ourselves from other more traditional consignment stores, we offer a Rental Program (including shoes) and Monthly Subscription Program. There are a few companies doing this, but not many. We haven’t seen it done right yet so we would like to be the first. Now, while wanting to be different is a great plan, doing so can be harder than expected, but we are pushing through.

We are most proud of launching a quarterly women’s networking event called Brains & Bubbles that revolves around our business. The Event focuses on networking and promoting growth of all women and female business owners, while rewarding these women for their commitment to setting and achieving personal and business goals, as well as giving back to their communities. Ultimately, it is a time where we come together to connect, support, share the best practices, build business opportunities and recognize how strong female influence is in business. The event consists of raffles, silent auctions, pop up shops, guest speakers and other fun surprises.
Something that sets us apart is our competitive consignment fees at a 70/30 split. Also, that we work with many Social Media Influencers and have a high following on IG for a company that is under a year old. We know that social media is a huge part of marketing right now and have taken advantage of this.
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
Launching of our website in October which will give us the freedom to host huge marketing campaign to generate a lot of traffic.
At the moment we have a private office space (appointment only) in Design District, but of course opening a store front in the next few years would be ideal.
