Today we’d like to introduce you to Rhonda Sheffield.
Rhonda, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
My Story started with my passion to give back to the community by empowering and mentoring girls. I started off with a vision and a desire to succeed, I had no idea of what or where to start. So first, God gave me the name of my Mentoring organization; I continued to research, network and things started coming together. I established my 503© organization and Treasure of Love became a reality. Through prayer and determination I started reaching out to the community through social media and personal contacts and Treasure of Love was birth. My purpose and goal was to provide something that I lack as a young lady growing up. I was shelter and had little to no exposure of basic development skills necessary to develop into a strong and confident women. Therefore, I started Treasure of Love to mentor girls and exposed them to their inner strength and confident that they naturally have within themselves.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
My Journey and pathways were filled with a lot of ups and downs. I questioned myself as to whether or not I was capable, resourceful or even talented enough to be an impact in the lives of young girls. My struggles were overwhelming and challenging, however, I never thought of giving up. I was completed oblivious as to how difficult and demanding Treasure of Love would be. But I knew God placed it in my Heart, so I ask God to guide and lead me through the obstacles that were before me. I also took on a different perspective concerning my difficulties and struggles. I realign all the negative experiences and failures through this process and use them as an opportunity to learn and grow in the area of my passion to empower and help girls develop.
Please tell us about Treasure of Love.
I started my business in 2015. I pride myself in providing opportunities for young girls to be Intelligently, Socially, Mentally, Physically and culturally expose to the endless possibilities that exist within each of them. I specialize in encouraging and motivating the girls to dream early, dream big and never stop dreaming. I’m most proud of the transformation of confidence and self-worth I continue to manifest in the girls I mentor. For example, seeing the girls who didn’t have self-confident and low self-esteem, now encouraging others and loving who they are. Parents are constantly reaching out to thank me for the positive changes and confidence their children are exhibiting due to Treasure of Love. I’m most proud of the ability I have to personally play a role in watching the girl grow and mature in so many areas of their while realizing their full potential and abilities. This is my purpose which allows me to be set apart from others, because I do it first for God and God uses me to do thing I never imagined possible. Realizing that my passion is not just for girls, but developing the youth into the Total Woman.
If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
First and foremost I learned that you not only have to invest your time and talent, but your finance as well. I learned your dreams doesn’t come true overnight. Understanding the reality that everyone will not support your dreams. I learned that determination and passion comes with sacrifice and a lot of hard work. Being able to block out all the distractions and negativity is key to moving forward. I learned that everything that happens positive or negative is an opportunity for me to learn and develop as an entrepreneur.
