Today we’d like to introduce you to Cristina Moreno.
Cristina, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
After working for 20 years in the largest editorial group in Mexico (El Norte, Reforma newspapers), I started writing my blog as a way to share personal interests. I was still living in Monterrey when I talked to a friend from Miami, Ana, and together we decided to write not only the blog but also write content for businesses that need social media help. We created Social Couturier. Anyway, my blog is still my passion. And I hope to launch the store before the year ends.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
It’s not a smooth road at all because social media algorithms change all the time, therefore, when I think I got everything figured out, things change again and it means that there is not comfort zone. Everything in life is challenging, but I pick my own challenges and work hard to be successful. My audience was mainly in Mexico but this year my goal is to grow my American audience.

I love fashion and it’s always rewarding when people that don’t know me write emails or PM and ask questions about style or where can they get products that I use or wear. That means that I’m on the right track!
What were you like growing up?
Honestly, I was a nerd when I was a little girl and even during my teenage years, but my besties and I back then liked to dress with certain style (pink Mondays, skirt Tuesday, and so on)… even my part time job while in college was in a beauty shop and a boutique. But I learned the true style lessons when I was a reporter and created fashion concepts for different shootings. Years later, the editorial director promoted me to fashion, beauty, lifestyle, architecture and bride editor. That was a dream come true!
