Meet Isabel Garcia Nevett of Garcia Nevett Chocolatier de Miami

Today we’d like to introduce you to Isabel Garcia Nevett.

Susana and Isabel have spent more than a decade perfecting their chocolatier skills, first in France and Venezuela and now in their adopted city of Miami. Always celebrating Venezuelan cacao and chocolate, and now infusing it with the flavors of South Florida, Garcia Nevett – Chocolatier de Miami is the high-end chocolate boutique the city was waiting for.

All of Miami’s chocolate and food lovers, as well as those delighted by thoughtfully created gifts and self-indulgent surprises, will fall in love with Garcia Nevett – Chocolatier de Miami. As master chocolatiers, Susana and Isabel have created a unique space to showcase their award-winning chocolates and sweet creations.

Garcia Nevett – Chocolatier de Miami arrives at the perfect time: the South Florida food scene has never looked better and our chocolatiers are proud to be a part of it.

Has it been a smooth road?
We have taken it very slowly and have grown organically, from working out of our kitchen five years ago to opening our first storefront just this month. Neither of us has any business background, so that has been the biggest learning curve. We are always seeking advise from fellow small business owners, chocolatiers, marketing experts, etc.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Garcia Nevett Chocolatier de Miami story. Tell us more about the business.
We are a European-style Chocolaterie, focusing on high-end chocolate products. Susana and Isabel are sisters that have spent more than a decade working together as chocolatiers, first in Venezuela and now in Miami. Our delicate bonbons have received awards both nationally and internationally. We are most proud of the brand we have created and the original recipes that have brought us here.

How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
The chocolate industry worldwide is growing and expanding to new markets. As fine cacao becomes more available, chocolate is more appreciated as a fine food similar to wine and cheese. We hope to see this trend grow and that consumers learn more about chocolate and cacao. As chocolatiers, we find part of our job is to help consumers understand where ingredients come from and how important these are to their overall experience.
