Today we’d like to introduce you to David Treusch.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
My entrance into the insurance arena started with Allstate Insurance Company as a property and casualty insurance adjuster. I then transitioned into the property and casualty insurance agency segment of the insurance marketplace.
I opened my first insurance office, Eagle Insurance Agency Inc, in North Miami Beach. I owned and operated Eagle Insurance from 1989 to 2000. We specialized in the auto insurance marketplace, along with commercial and homeowner’s insurance. I subsequently sold Eagle Insurance and moved to Marbella, Spain.
I then opened All Euro Insurance Agency in Fuengirola, Spain. My office was focused on the numerous expats that reside throughout Andalucía. While I thoroughly enjoyed my 3 1/2 years in Spain, I wanted to move back to the US and open another property and casualty insurance office that specialized in hazard, windstorm and flood insurance for residential properties throughout the State of Florida and would also be complemented with automobile and commercial insurance products.
As a result, I sold All Euro Insurance to my primary agent and opened All American Insurance Agency, Inc. which I currently own and operate since 2003. All American has morphed into a full service and prosperous property and casualty insurance office.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
I cannot say it has been a smooth transition starting my own business on three different occasions. Every person suffers setbacks and confronts obstacles throughout their daily life. However, it is imperative that if an individual has a specific life plan they want to achieve, they must stay focused and refuse to accept that their specific goal cannot be accomplished by such obstacles.
Thus, throughout my early adulthood and presently, I have always wanted to own and operate my own business. I would then be able to control my own destiny, as best possible, within the business world.
Like any business, the insurance marketplace, especially in South Florida, is very dynamic and changes constantly. Therefore, it is incumbent upon myself and my office to confront these new challenges and learn how to capitalize on many of these new changes and utilize them to benefit our agency and mainly our policyholders.
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the All American Insurance Consultants, Inc story. Tell us more about the business.
All American Insurance Consultants Initially specialized in the residential property insurance marketplace. However, our office now specializes in all property and casualty products, such as an automobile, commercial property, and liability, workers comp, etc.
Early on, as an adjuster for Allstate Insurance, the management team and our fellow employees understood that the customer is always first. I personally believe that this was an accurate assessment.
As a result, throughout my career, I, myself, and my employees always provide impeccable customer service to our current and prospective policyholders.
This internal belief not only creates customer satisfaction and retention, it is the best way to grow and prosper.
In addition, it is essential to market the best product unique to each policyholder’s wants and needs.
While customer service, transparency, and education are essential to foment financial success, it also is morally right to operate a business in this fashion.
Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
Anybody who thinks that their success was only attributed to what steps they took to become successful is a bit delusional.
The role and support of family members and new relationships with individuals and companies are the main reason why someone gains success.
Also, timing is just as important. When I opened All American Insurance is 2003 the housing boom was in its infancy. This helped my agency grow quite rapidly in a short period of time.
Even though the housing bubble occurred several years later, I was able to withstand the downturn, survive, and continue to grow my business.
