Today we’d like to introduce you to Maria Tokareva and Sergey Gordienko.
Every artist has a unique story. Can you briefly walk us through yours?
We met last year and immediately started painting together. We are a team of two artist Maria Tokareva and Sergey Gordienko who are passionate about creating work inspired in love and our life experiences, we are cultural provocateurs and our mission is to instigate change in the world, to inspire people to do what they love because that’s what we do every day.
Maria is Russian/ Colombian Artist and Designer she has been doing street art and private commissions in Colombia, Russia and United States for more than 6 years. She launched her Wearable Art line four years ago and is very adamant about creating one of a kind pieces with no replicas prints or sizes. Her statement is to be FRAIS, it translates from the French word as being fresh or cool, and that’s how she lives her life every day. Maria’s mission is to instigate curiosity for the WHAT IF and to act upon it reflecting her experiences in her work.
Sergey Gordienko is a Russian Artist / Art Director with more than 15 years of experience in the creative fields of filmmaking, digital art and photography. Moved to Miami to dedicate his time fully to Art. His statement is Do What You Love, that is how he sees life and it reflects in each one of his works. He is determined to show that once you find what you love to do every day, you can master it and be successful both spiritually and economically.
Maria instigates people to try out different things and to always keep a positive attitude about life, Sergey shows them how to master that one thing that you tried and loved so much, taking it to the next level, working hard to be professional while at the same time amazing at it.
The combination of both our strengths is what makes MTSG different and unique, it’s the perfect combination between chaos and harmony.

Because both of our minds together create a third entity, you can see in our artworks, each one of them is the product of our passion and love and trust in each other.

Please tell us about your art.
We are Artist and Designers. We paint murals, design and custom paint on clothes.
Our message is when you do what you love, Magic Happens.
We are creatives in many different ways and we want to communicate freedom and expressing our feelings trough art.
Each one of us has a different style, Maria loves to paint girls mixing portraits with lots of feeling and expressive faces and Sergey is very inspired by modern art, pop art and Basquiat.
As an artist, how do you define success and what quality or characteristic do you feel is essential to success as an artist?
Success is different for everyone, Maria sees is as enjoying life and being positive, creating and painting, making her ideas come to life. Sergey looks it from an economical approach, you have to be making money and capitalizing on what your dreams are. To be an artist you have to be patient, brave and secure of yourself, it’s so important to believe in what you do and do it with love.
