Today we’d like to introduce you to Vicky Garcia.
Hi Vicky, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
My journey has taken me through four countries, and when I look back, every stop along the way has shaped the woman, coach, and entrepreneur I am today.
I was born and raised in Venezuela, where I completely fell in love with sports. I was the kid who wanted to try everything. Volleyball, gymnastics, tennis, swimming, dancing… if it involved movement, I wanted to do it. As a teenager I discovered weight training, and from that moment the gym became my happy place.
After high school, I moved to Spain, where I earned my degree in Advertising and Marketing. I loved the creativity and business side of marketing, but I knew there was still more of the world I wanted to experience. So I packed my bags again and moved to England to learn English as a second language. I had the opportunity to study at Cambridge University , and that experience gave me the confidence to dream even bigger. It opened the door for me to move to the United States and pursue what had always been my biggest passion: fitness.
When I arrived in the U.S., I wanted to learn every side of the fitness industry. I worked in different gyms, managed facilities, coached clients, and soaked up everything I could about building a successful business. Eventually, I opened my own fitness studio in Atlanta, Georgia, where I spent years helping hundreds of women transform their lives.
At the same time, I was raising my daughter as a single mom. Looking back, I’m so grateful that she grew up surrounded by health, discipline, and wellness. Watching her earn a full Division I softball scholarship is one of the accomplishments I’m most proud of. Today she’s a true gym lover herself and enjoys sharing her own wellness journey with other young women on social media. Seeing that positive ripple effect reminds me that children really do learn by watching us.
Competing in NPC Bikini competitions was another chapter that shaped me in ways I never expected. Of course I learned about nutrition and training, but what I gained the most was learning about myself. Every prep challenged my discipline, my mindset, my confidence, my focus, and my ability to keep promises to myself. It taught me that true strength isn’t just physical. It’s mental and emotional too.
Ironically, those years also helped me realize that competition prep isn’t how I wanted women to live forever. I discovered that extreme diets and restriction aren’t sustainable for real life. So I wanted to learn deeply about the value of food and how much impact it does on our relationship with food. That’s when my philosophy completely shifted toward helping women build healthy habits they can enjoy for years, not just until the next vacation or photoshoot.
This June, I closed another beautiful chapter and moved from Atlanta to Miami. Living close to the ocean has always been one of my dreams. As an empty nest mom, it felt like the perfect time to start fresh, enjoy a slower pace, and embrace whatever beautiful things God has planned for this next season of my life. My Golden Retriever, Cooper, made the move with me, and he continues to remind me every single day that happiness can be as simple as a beach walk and a wagging tail.
Today I coach women all over the country through my online fitness and nutrition programs. My mission is helping women over 40 navigate perimenopause and menopause, build muscle, improve their nutrition, their relationship with food and create habits that help them feel confident, energized, strong, sexy and excited about life again.
For me, this has never been about helping women simply lose weight. It’s about helping them incorporating healthy habits into their life to truly love the life they’re living.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Definitely not, but I honestly believe every challenge has prepared me for where I am today.
Starting over in new countries, learning a new language, building a business from scratch, raising my daughter as a single mom, and later making the difficult decision to close my studio and reinvent my business were all moments that pushed me outside my comfort zone.
There were times when I questioned myself, just like every entrepreneur does. But I’ve learned that growth usually happens during the seasons that feel the hardest.
Every obstacle has made me more resilient, more compassionate, always with positive thoughts and God in mind…. I am definitely a better coach because I understand what it’s like to rebuild, adapt, and keep moving forward even when life doesn’t go exactly as planned.
What are you most proud of? What sets you apart from others?
Without question, I’m most proud of my daughter, the woman she’s become, and the example she’s now setting for younger girls by living a healthy lifestyle herself.
The lives I’ve been able to impact.
Watching a woman walk into my program feeling frustrated and discouraged, and months later seeing her smile because she finally recognizes herself again, is something that never gets old.
I’m proud that at 49 years old I continue to live what I teach every day. I don’t believe in perfection. I believe in consistency. I lift weights, enjoy good food, travel, spend time with family and friends, and still prioritize my health because that’s the lifestyle I want my clients to experience too.
I also think my international journey has helped me connect with people from all walks of life. I absolutely love traveling, learning about different cultures, trying local food, hearing different accents, meeting new people, and, of course, visiting gyms wherever I go. Every place teaches me something new, and I bring those experiences back into my coaching.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a NASM Certified Fitness Trainer and specialize in helping women over 40 build lean muscle, lose body fat, improve their relationship with food, and navigate the hormonal changes that come with perimenopause and menopause.
What I’m really passionate about is helping women realize they don’t have to starve themselves or spend hours doing cardio to feel amazing in their bodies.
My coaching combines strength training, flexible nutrition, healthy habit coaching, accountability, and education because I want women to understand their body and the why they’re doing something, not just follow another meal plan.
The best part of what I do isn’t seeing someone’s before and after picture. It’s watching how their entire life changes.
I see women who have more energy to play with their kids and grandkids. Women who start wearing shorts again after years of hiding. Women who feel more confident with their husbands and partners. Women who stop feeling guilty every time they eat. Women who become happier, stronger, and more present for the people they love.
When their habits improve, everything else improves too. Their confidence, relationships, energy, mindset, and overall quality of life. That’s what makes this work so meaningful to me
Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
So many people.
My number one fan has always been my mom. She has believed in me through every crazy dream, every move, every competition, every business decision, and every new beginning. Knowing she’s always cheering me on has given me so much strength.
My daughter has also been one of my greatest inspirations. She reminds me every day why leading by example matters.
My two brothers, my two angels I believe my dad left behind to always watch over me, my protectors,
My close friends, and my clients have all shaped the person I am today. My clients trust me with something incredibly personal, their health, and I never take that responsibility lightly. Every transformation I witness inspires me just as much as I hope I’ve inspired them.
I’ve also been blessed to learn from incredible mentors throughout my career, from fitness professionals to business coaches, who challenged me to keep growing and never stop learning..
At the end of the day, I don’t think success is measured by awards or titles. It’s measured by the people whose lives you’ve touched along the way by caring about them. If I’ve helped someone become healthier, more confident, love themselves a little more, or believe in themselves again, then I feel like I’ve done my job.
