Daily Inspiration: Meet Nía Vásquez

Today we’d like to introduce you to Nía Vásquez.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
My love for fashion started when I was a little girl. I was lucky enough to grow up with a very talented fashion designer close to my family, which inspired me from a very young age. I started designing dresses as a child and even sold them to my friends. Creating and designing has always been my greatest passion.

Later, I studied Business Administration, but fashion always found its way back into my life. I worked as a stylist and was involved in different creative projects until I launched Cocora Shop. Originally, it started as a branding and marketing project for my Master’s in Digital Marketing, but from the very first moment I began working on it, I completely fell in love with the brand.

We started producing handmade swimwear in Colombia, working alongside incredible women artisans. Being part of that creative and artisanal process made me realize that this was much more than a business—it was a purpose.

After years of growing step by step, selling in small boutiques in Madrid and Ibiza, I began participating in international fashion events. Those experiences inspired me to create Ibiza Swim Week, a project I started developing around four years ago and officially launched two years later. This year, we proudly celebrated our third edition.

Today, beyond Cocora Shop and Ibiza Swim Week, we produce fashion campaigns, help brands with branding and creative direction, and organize pop-ups and events across Europe and the Americas. Our company continues to grow, building stronger international partnerships every year, and our mission remains the same: creating meaningful opportunities for brands while celebrating creativity, craftsmanship, and innovation in fashion.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I’ve faced many challenges along the way. Building something like Ibiza Swim Week from scratch has never been easy.

One of the biggest challenges was finding support in the beginning—whether institutional support, sponsors, or the funding needed to make such a big vision a reality. Another challenge has been finding the right people. Many have been excited about the project at first, but not everyone is prepared for the level of commitment and hard work it takes to build something like this.

As we’ve grown, we’ve faced setbacks and even attempts to discourage us, but every challenge has made us stronger.

I believe resilience is one of the main reasons I am here today, celebrating our third edition and continuing to grow internationally.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
What I love most is creating experiences that make people feel inspired, confident, and connected.

Through Cocora Shop, I design pieces that help women feel beautiful, empowered, and comfortable in their own skin. Seeing someone wear one of our designs with confidence is incredibly rewarding.

At the same time, with Ibiza Swim Week, I have the opportunity to create a platform where emerging designers can showcase their creativity in extraordinary locations, gain international exposure, and share their work with the world. Watching them achieve milestones they once dreamed of is one of the most fulfilling parts of what I do.

I believe our greatest strength is building a community where people feel they belong, where creativity is celebrated, and where we can help others turn their dreams into reality.

What does success mean to you?
Success is a difficult thing to define because I believe everyone measures it differently, according to their own dreams and expectations.

For me, success is having the opportunity to do what you truly love. If your dream is to create something that connects with people, then success is seeing that connection happen and knowing that your work has a positive impact on others.

I believe we’re only at the beginning of our journey. We’ve achieved a lot, but there’s still a long way to go. For me, success isn’t just about growth or recognition—it’s about waking up every day excited to do what I love and, through that, bringing happiness, inspiration, and opportunities to other people.
