Daily Inspiration: Meet Raul Betancourt

Today we’d like to introduce you to Raul Betancourt.

Hi Raul, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
We are the Betancourts, a family of four turning our time together into stories worth telling. Under the name The Walking Tales Family, we have had the incredible opportunity to appear in television commercials and create content for brands such as Walt Disney World, LEGOLAND, Royal Caribbean, FPL, Ambetter, and Telemundo, among many others.

Our children, Amelie, 7, and Noah, 12, understood something at a surprisingly young age: childhood moves quickly, and the time we have together as a family is precious. Instead of watching Mom and Dad pursue this creative adventure from the sidelines, they decided to join us.

What began as acting and content creation soon became something much more meaningful. Every audition, road trip, callback, early call time, and day on set became another chapter in our family’s story. We have laughed through long drives, celebrated bookings together, learned from rejection, and created memories in places we may never have experienced otherwise.

To us, The Walking Tales Family is not simply a family brand. It is our way of embracing the years we have together, telling meaningful stories, and showing our children that the greatest opportunities often arrive looking a lot like hard work. We can only describe this journey as a huge blessing—beautifully disguised as work.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Working on set is not always as glamorous as it appears on screen. Behind a polished 30-second commercial, there can be hours of waiting, very early mornings, late-night call times, unpredictable weather, repeated takes, and a small army of talented people working under pressure to meet tight deadlines.

Of course, there are moments when we are tired, hungry, too hot, too cold, or wondering how many more times we will hear, “Let’s do one more take!” But we have learned to laugh through the chaos and enjoy the adventure together.

The challenges have never stopped us from appreciating the opportunity. They have taught us patience, flexibility, professionalism, and gratitude. Most importantly, they have allowed us to create unforgettable memories as a family, one step at a time.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I own a media production company, Pillow Fight Media, and when we started acting as a family, my video production experience opened the door to something even bigger: becoming a family content-creation brand built around the magic of togetherness.

Through The Walking Tales Family, we create joyful adventures, meaningful stories, and unforgettable experiences that inspire people to pause their busy lives and invest in what truly matters—the people they love. Whether we are exploring a new destination, experiencing a family attraction, or bringing a brand’s story to life, our goal is to make audiences feel as though they are right there with us.

We combine more than eight years of family modeling and acting experience with over 20 years in content creation and video production. This allows us to understand both sides of the camera: what a brand needs to communicate and what a real family needs to see, feel, and believe.

Our work goes beyond simply featuring a product or destination. We tell each story from the consumer’s perspective, transforming a brand’s message into an authentic experience that connects emotionally, sparks curiosity, and remains with the audience long after they have scrolled away.

So maybe we end on discussing what matters most to you and why?
What matters most to us is spending meaningful time together and honoring God in everything we do—whether we are standing in front of a camera surrounded by lights and an entire production crew or enjoying the quiet comfort of our home when it is just the four of us.

We want to inspire other families to be bold enough to pause, be fully present, and appreciate the life unfolding in front of them. It is easy to become distracted by work, responsibilities, and the desire for what comes next, but children grow quickly, seasons change, and today’s ordinary moments eventually become tomorrow’s most precious memories.

Our message is simple: do not wait for the perfect trip, the perfect opportunity, or the perfect moment to enjoy your family. Embrace what you have right now, because it will not remain exactly this way forever.
