Check out Craig Hamilton’s Artwork

Today we’d like to introduce you to Craig Hamilton.

Craig, we’d love to hear your story and how you got to where you are today both personally and as an artist.
I am a Miami-based graphic illustrator, a graduate of Design and Architecture Senior High School, Miami, Florida, then later attended College for Creative Studies in Detroit, Michigan from 2007-2010, now I offer my talents and experience to design illustration, editorial, and consultation. Commented as a global thinker with an intimate precision to detail, my style is best described as glyphic. Referrals and clientèle that commission my services for original graphic design, logos, and design drafts to use my work for print or publication. http://www.artistcraigahamilton.com/about I grew up in Miami, when I moved here from New York City where I was born an only child to my mother, a single parent who immigrated from Jamaica in the mid-1980s. My early childhood was spent in a small apartment, playing with my toys in an open room, and left with my imagination as my best friend. Even then, everyone can tell I was born a dreamer.

https://steemit.com/earthnation/@craigahamilton/introduceyourself-craig-a-hamilton-imagemaker-artist-or-sol The title, “imagemaker” refers to the idea of a graphic illustrator using both analog and digital media to create original art; as an artist-entrepreneur, original artwork is sold as print or branding/publication. My aim is to offer a unique style of articulate detail and a fusion of influences from cultural cues, found in indigenous history and modern science-fiction motifs. Currently, I’m building a mobile business platform for selling my art anywhere to anyone at an affordable price, a model balanced between self-employment and community service, the kind that allows my skills and talents to continue to grow as well as to help as many in need of design services as possible.

We’d love to hear more about your art. What do you do you do and why and what do you hope others will take away from your work?
I create visuals as original “ART-ifacts”, a product, brand, and/or trademark. I create original images, that are sold as hand-crafted products for the home that aims to inspire and elevate. Blending analog and digital methods into a unique creative process, the art is graphic images, specifically for covers, logos, and other trademark assets. Since 2009, the creative art market has experienced a complete digital revolution and since I’ve curated a catalog online access to both client and employers that I network with. My website www.artistcraigahamilton.com I created from original elements using design software, such as Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator, to develop original web assets and media. After producing a hand-drawn design or sketch on physical media, my illustrations are scanned, digitally rendered, then formatted for custom printed products like on housewares and apparel. http://www.artistcraigahamilton.com/about My images are various illuminated scenes from the realm of my imagination. Every publication stands as an excerpt from the inner world of my thoughts, inspiration, and abstraction. Impressions drawn from my illustrations have stated compelling, cathartic, consummate, and “raw”. Collectors and curators alike may enjoy my artwork as not only wall art, rather stunning graphics that can enlighten the everyday place or create a unique piece, cultivators are welcomed to invest in my illustrations and trade amongst other artistic disciplines, projects such as in film and gaming.

Encouraging Artists, What do you think about conditions for artists today? Has life become easier or harder for artists in recent years? What can cities like ours do to encourage and help art and artists thrive?

Where do people engage with art? There are many venues and increasing options for developing artists to showcase and share their artwork, both locally in town and globally online abroad. I believe there are as many opportunities as there are obstacles, respectably challenges at every experience level artists and creators face living in the city of Miami. Where there is strife amongst the population, either for affordable housing to the rising cost of living, overall the challenge of striking a healthy balance between lucrative distribution and meaningful employment, admittingly being an artist is becoming more a hustle than a way of life. Tourism has its sights and sounds; a compilation of hospitality destinations in and surrounding the beaches, Downtown is quickly becoming a bustling city center bustling with architectural wonders and brimming beats of traffic in the streets. Technologists have opened platforms within the bordering neighborhoods transforming sleepy communities into creative incubators.

Why not everywhere people are and use art’s presence to connect, even heal a community? How can artists remain creative and deliver the message of artistic expression? Throughout the past three years, I have experimented with new, emerging technologies in use for smartphone apps, web, and even Block chain. The far-reaching promotional power of a website is amplified entirely from constant touring of a small pop-up print shop that can be easily set up for any event or festival. Fans and followers can find my pop-up and purchase special edition prints, limited-edition collectibles, and signature publications with collections of my original artwork.

Do you have any events or exhibitions coming up? Where would one go to see more of your work? How can people support you and your artwork?
