Today we’d like to introduce you to Corrine Smiley.
Hi Corrine, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I’m a Miami native whose career has always centered around communication, relationship building, and connecting people. After graduating magna cum laude from Florida International University with degrees in Organizational Communication and Communication Arts, I spent more than 16 years in South Florida real estate, where I developed a passion for marketing, branding, and helping clients navigate some of life’s biggest decisions.
As digital media evolved, I found myself drawn to content creation and social media marketing. What began as a creative outlet eventually grew into a career. Today, I work as a lifestyle creator and live commerce host, partnering with brands across the beauty, wellness, travel, hospitality, fashion, and lifestyle industries to create authentic content and interactive shopping experiences.
Whether I’m producing user-generated content, attending industry events, or hosting livestream shopping experiences that engage thousands of viewers, my goal is always the same: to tell stories that create genuine connections between brands and their audiences.
Like many entrepreneurs, my journey has included unexpected pivots and challenges, but each experience has reinforced the importance of resilience, adaptability, and continuous growth. Today, I’m focused on expanding my personal brand, building meaningful, long-term partnerships, and creating content that helps brands tell their stories in an authentic and engaging way while inspiring people to discover products, experiences, and destinations they genuinely enjoy.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
One of the biggest challenges I’ve had to overcome was learning to get out of my own way. Building a career in content creation requires you to be seen, and that can be intimidating no matter how confident you appear on the outside. I had to stop worrying about how my content would be perceived and focus instead on creating something authentic and valuable.
Once I shifted my mindset, everything began to change. I became more consistent, more creative, and more willing to embrace opportunities that pushed me outside my comfort zone. That mindset eventually led me into live commerce, where authenticity, confidence, and the ability to connect with people in real time are essential.
Looking back, I realize that reinventing myself professionally first required me to overcome the limitations I had placed on myself personally. I’ve learned that growth begins when you stop seeking permission, trust your instincts, and keep showing up. That lesson has shaped not only my career, but the way I approach every new opportunity.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I specialize in creating authentic, story-driven content that helps brands build meaningful connections with their audiences. My work spans beauty, wellness, travel, hospitality, fashion, and lifestyle, where I create user-generated content, produce social media campaigns, attend industry events, and host live commerce experiences.
What I enjoy most is taking a product, service, or destination and finding the story behind it. My background in communications, marketing, and more than 16 years in real estate taught me that people don’t connect with sales pitches, they connect with authenticity. That philosophy shapes every piece of content I create.
One of the accomplishments I’m most proud of is successfully transitioning into live commerce. Hosting live shopping experiences has strengthened my ability to communicate, educate, and build trust with audiences in real time while helping brands drive meaningful engagement and sales.
I believe what sets me apart is that I approach every partnership as both a creator and a marketer. Rather than simply showcasing a product, I focus on understanding a brand’s goals and creating content that feels genuine, delivers value to the audience, and supports measurable business results. Long after trends change, authenticity will always be what resonates most.
Are there any apps, books, podcasts, blogs or other resources you think our readers should check out?
Because I work in such a fast-moving industry, I believe continuous learning is essential. I’m constantly researching marketing trends, content strategy, branding, and consumer behavior to stay ahead in an ever-evolving digital landscape.
One book that has had a lasting impact on me is How to Win Friends and Influence People by Dale Carnegie. Although it was written decades ago, the principles of building genuine relationships, communicating effectively, and creating trust are just as relevant today. One of my biggest takeaways was realizing that even when you’re right, proving someone else wrong isn’t always the most productive outcome. Listening first, seeking to understand different perspectives, and leading with empathy often creates stronger relationships and far better results, both professionally and personally.
I also spend a great deal of time learning directly from the platforms I create on. Studying successful content, paying attention to emerging trends, and continually refining my approach has been one of the most valuable parts of my growth. I believe staying curious and remaining a lifelong student are some of the best investments anyone can make.
