Hidden Gems: Meet Ricardo Lory of Creative Catering Naples

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ricardo Lory.

Hi Ricardo, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Success didn’t happen overnight. Every beautifully plated meal, every successful event, and every milestone represents years of hard work, sacrifice, and an unwavering belief that food has the power to bring people together.

My passion for cooking began at a young age. I was fascinated by how a single meal could create memories, spark conversations, and make people feel at home. That passion became my purpose, and I dedicated myself to mastering the culinary arts. After years of learning and refining my craft, I earned my Certified Culinarian designation through the American Culinary Federation. More importantly, I learned that being a chef is about much more than preparing great food. It’s about serving people and creating experiences they will never forget.

That passion led me to create Chef Global’s Kitchen, where I introduced globally inspired cuisine through my restaurant and award-winning food truck. It gave me the opportunity to share cultures through food while building meaningful relationships within the Southwest Florida community. Being recognized by Gulfshore Life as Best Food Truck for three consecutive years and being featured by ABC7, FOX4, Today Food, Naples Daily News, and Bar & Restaurant News were incredible honors, but the greatest reward has always been the trust our guests place in us.

As the business continued to grow, so did my vision. I founded Creative Catering Naples to deliver elevated culinary experiences for weddings, corporate events, nonprofit organizations, and private celebrations. Every event is unique, and I believe each one deserves the same level of care, creativity, and attention to detail, whether we are serving 20 guests or several hundred.

Over time, I discovered another opportunity that combined two of my greatest passions: exceptional food and peak performance. That vision became Global Performance, Southwest Florida’s first sports performance culinary company. Today, we prepare performance-focused meals for professional and collegiate athletes, manage tournament hospitality, and support sports organizations with customized culinary programs. One of our proudest accomplishments was fueling 14 NFL Draft prospects through a 10-week performance nutrition program, with five athletes ultimately being selected in the NFL Draft.

Like every entrepreneur, my journey has included challenges, uncertainty, and moments that tested my resolve. Building multiple businesses required countless early mornings, late nights, difficult decisions, and a willingness to bet on myself even when the outcome was uncertain. Those experiences taught me resilience, strengthened my faith, and reinforced that success is built one decision, one relationship, and one opportunity at a time.

Today, my mission extends far beyond preparing great food. I want to raise the standard of hospitality while showing that culinary professionals can make an impact in communities, businesses, and the world of sports. Whether we are serving a bride and groom on their wedding day, creating unforgettable experiences through Chef Global’s Kitchen, or helping elite athletes perform at their highest level, our purpose remains the same: to serve people with excellence.

I believe the greatest measure of success is not the awards we receive or the businesses we build. It is the lives we impact, the memories we help create, and the legacy we leave behind. My journey is still being written, and I am excited for what comes next.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Not at all. Like many entrepreneurs, I’ve experienced financial uncertainty, long hours, and moments where I questioned whether I was making the right decisions. Building a business is about much more than being good at your craft. I had to learn leadership, marketing, operations, and how to adapt when things didn’t go as planned.

The hospitality industry is unpredictable, and every event comes with high expectations. Those challenges taught me resilience, discipline, and the importance of always putting the client first. Looking back, I wouldn’t change the journey because every obstacle helped shape the businesses I lead today and made me a stronger entrepreneur.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Creative Catering Naples?
Creative Catering Naples is a boutique catering company specializing in globally inspired culinary experiences. Rather than offering traditional catering, we transport our guests around the world through food, creating authentic menus inspired by countries and cultures across the globe. Every event is thoughtfully designed to deliver not just an exceptional meal, but an unforgettable experience.

From luxury weddings and corporate events to nonprofit galas and private celebrations, every menu is customized to reflect our clients’ vision while showcasing fresh ingredients, elevated presentation, and genuine hospitality.

Our passion for culinary excellence has also led to the growth of Chef Global’s Kitchen, our award-winning restaurant and food truck, and Global Performance, Southwest Florida’s first sports performance culinary company serving professional and collegiate sports organizations.

What makes us most proud isn’t the recognition we’ve received. It’s the trust our clients place in us to be part of life’s most meaningful celebrations. Our mission is simple: create unforgettable experiences, exceed expectations, and bring people together through the universal language of food.

Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
I believe luck creates opportunities, but it’s preparation and perseverance that determine what you do with them.

I’ve been fortunate to meet incredible clients, mentors, and partners who believed in my vision. Those relationships opened doors that I’m truly grateful for. At the same time, I’ve also experienced setbacks, slow seasons, canceled events, and unexpected challenges that tested my resilience.

Looking back, what some people call luck often came from years of showing up, consistently delivering quality, and building genuine relationships. When opportunities finally came, I was ready to take advantage of them.

I’m grateful for both the good and the bad. The good moments gave me opportunities to grow, and the difficult ones taught me lessons that helped shape the entrepreneur and leader I am today.
