Today we’d like to introduce you to Lisana Falcon.
Hi lisana, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
My name is Lisana Falcon and I am Founder and Head Director at take One Acting Studio. Our story started with a deep love for storytelling, communication, and human behavior. Before opening Take One Acting Studio, I worked in front of the camera as a journalist, host, actress, and creative director. Over time, I realized that what moved me the most was not only performing, but helping others understand what it truly means to be truthful, present, and powerful on camera.
Take One Acting Studio was born from that passion. My business partner Jillenny Porras and I I wanted to create a space where actors could receive serious, professional training, but also feel seen, challenged, and supported as human beings. For me, acting is not just about memorizing lines or “performing.” It is about understanding people, behavior, emotion, timing, the camera, and the story behind every scene.
Little by little, the studio grew through word of mouth, the work of our students, and the trust of families and actors who were looking for more than a regular class. Today, Take One has become a place where kids, teens, and adults train for film, television, auditions, scene study, voiceover, and on-camera work.
What has brought me here is a combination of discipline, intuition, experience, and a very clear mission: to help actors develop real craft, confidence, and emotional truth. I believe acting is an art form, and the actor’s body, mind, voice, and life experience are their instruments. My work is to help them learn how to use those instruments with honesty, intelligence, and courage.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Yes — here’s a polished answer with your ideas, in a natural interview tone:
It has definitely not been a completely smooth road. Like many businesses, we opened during the pandemic, which could have seemed like the worst possible timing. But in many ways, we believe it was actually the perfect moment. People were isolated, uncertain, and in need of connection, creativity, expression, and a place where they could feel part of something meaningful again.
Another challenge was opening something very specific in Miami. Many people think of Miami as a very traditional city when it comes to certain types of training, and creating a professional acting studio focused on film, camera work, and serious actor development felt risky. It was not a generic performing arts space; it was a very clear vision, with a very specific philosophy.
But we always knew that once people experienced our culture, our professionalism, and the way we work, they would receive us with open arms. We relied on what we knew: our craft, our experience, our discipline, and our belief that acting training should be human, technical, emotional, and deeply professional.
So no, it has not always been easy. There were doubts, risks, and moments where we had to educate the market about what we do. But every challenge helped us define our identity even more. Today, I think people understand that Take One Acting Studio is not just a place to take a class. It is a place to grow as an artist, as a communicator, and as a human being.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
Here’s a polished interview answer that positions the studio strongly, with your philosophy and brand identity:
Take One Acting Studio is a professional acting studio in Miami dedicated to on-camera training for kids, teens, and adults. We specialize in film and television acting, scene study, audition preparation, voiceover, dubbing, script analysis, and helping actors understand the technical and emotional demands of working in front of the camera.
What we are known for is serious training with a very human approach. We don’t believe acting is just about memorizing lines or “acting emotional.” Our work is about truth, behavior, presence, listening, timing, body language, emotional intelligence, and understanding the story from the point of view of the actor, the director, and the camera.
What sets us apart is that we train actors in a very complete way. We focus on the craft, but also on the psychology of the character, the cinematic language, the actor’s confidence, and the professional discipline required in the industry. Our students learn how to analyze a script, make strong choices, work with objectives, understand behavior, and deliver performances that feel honest and alive on camera.
We also care deeply about the culture of the studio. Take One is not a place where students come only to take a class and leave. It is a creative community. We want our actors to feel challenged, supported, and inspired. Whether they are children discovering their voice, teens building confidence, or adults pursuing serious artistic growth, our goal is to help them become more truthful, expressive, and prepared performers.
Brand-wise, I am most proud that Take One has become known for quality, professionalism, and emotional truth. Families trust us with their children, actors trust us with their growth, and our students know that we take their training seriously. We are proud of creating a space where discipline and creativity can coexist.
I would love readers to know that Take One Acting Studio is more than an acting school. It is a place where actors learn to understand people, stories, camera work, and themselves. Acting is an art form, and we believe the actor’s mind, body, voice, and life experience are their instruments. Our mission is to help each student learn how to use those instruments with honesty, intelligence, and courage.
Can you talk to us about how you think about risk?
Here’s a shorter interview-style answer:
I do believe in taking risks, but not blind risks. For me, risk has to be connected to purpose, preparation, and a clear belief in what you are building.
Opening Take One Acting Studio was definitely a major risk, especially because we opened during the pandemic and because our concept was very specific: a professional on-camera acting studio in Miami with a strong philosophy and a serious approach to the craft. But I always felt that if the work was honest, professional, and necessary, people would respond to it.
I don’t see risk as jumping without thinking. I see it as trusting your vision enough to move forward even when the timing is uncertain. Every important step in our growth has required courage, but also discipline, consistency, and faith in what we know.
