Today we’d like to introduce you to Pousye Robert Joseph.
Hi Pousye Robert, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
My journey started long before I became a marketer or entrepreneur. I was born and raised in Haiti, where I discovered my passion for art at a young age. By the time I was 11 years old, I was already creating artwork, painting murals, and eventually teaching art to others. Creativity became my first language, and I quickly realized it had the power to inspire people and create opportunities.
When I moved to the United States at 19, I had to start over. Like many immigrants, I faced the challenge of adapting to a new culture while trying to build a future. I enrolled in ESOL classes, continued my education, and eventually pursued Commercial Art. What began as a passion for design evolved into a career in branding, marketing, and business strategy.
Over the past two decades, I’ve worked with businesses across a variety of industries, helping them clarify their message, strengthen their brand, and build marketing systems that generate real results. Along the way, I became a certified sales funnel builder and founded Pousye Plus, a creative marketing agency focused on helping entrepreneurs grow through strategic branding, marketing, and sales funnels.
At the same time, I’ve had the privilege of serving as a Commercial Art instructor, teaching the next generation of designers and creative professionals. Teaching has been one of the most rewarding parts of my journey because it constantly reminds me that knowledge only becomes valuable when it’s shared.
Today, my mission is simple: I help educators, entrepreneurs, and business owners turn their expertise into income by creating brands, marketing strategies, and sales funnels that open doors to greater freedom and opportunity. Whether I’m in a classroom, speaking at an event, or working with clients, my goal is always the same: to equip people with the tools and confidence to build a business and a life they truly enjoy.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road, but every challenge has shaped who I am today. Moving from Haiti to the United States at 19 meant leaving behind everything that was familiar and starting over from scratch. I had to learn a new language, adapt to a different culture, and prove myself in an entirely new environment. There were moments of uncertainty, but those experiences taught me resilience and the importance of never giving up.
As an entrepreneur, one of my biggest challenges has been wearing multiple hats. Like many business owners, I was the designer, marketer, salesperson, customer service representative, and accountant all at once. I quickly learned that talent alone isn’t enough you also need systems, discipline, and a willingness to keep learning.
Balancing entrepreneurship with a full-time teaching career has been another challenge. Teaching is something I genuinely love because it allows me to impact lives every day, but building a business outside of the classroom has required countless early mornings, late nights, and weekends. It hasn’t always been easy, but it’s reinforced my belief that consistency often matters more than perfection.
I’ve also experienced projects that didn’t go as planned, ideas that failed, and opportunities that didn’t work out. Looking back, those moments became some of my greatest teachers. They forced me to improve, adapt, and focus on creating solutions that truly serve people instead of chasing quick wins.
If there’s one lesson I’ve learned, it’s that success isn’t about avoiding obstacles, it’s about developing the character to keep moving forward through them. Every challenge has strengthened my faith, sharpened my skills, and prepared me for the opportunities I’m pursuing today.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
Pousye Plus is a creative marketing agency built on the belief that great marketing should do more than make a business look good—it should help it grow. We specialize in helping entrepreneurs, educators, and service-based businesses build brands that attract the right audience and marketing systems that consistently generate leads and sales. Our core services include brand strategy, sales funnel development, marketing consulting, content strategy, and AI-powered business solutions.
While many agencies focus on creating beautiful websites or eye-catching graphics, we focus on building complete customer journeys. A great design is important, but if it doesn’t guide someone to take action, it’s simply decoration. That’s why we design marketing systems that move people from discovering a business to becoming loyal customers.
One thing that sets us apart is my background as both an educator and a marketer. Teaching has taught me that marketing is really about communication and education. Before people buy, they need to understand the value of what you offer. That philosophy shapes everything we create. Whether it’s a sales funnel, a workshop, or a marketing campaign, our goal is to educate first, build trust, and then invite people to take the next step.
I’m especially proud that our work has allowed us to serve clients across different industries while also giving back through education. I’ve had the opportunity to teach students, mentor aspiring entrepreneurs, and help businesses simplify marketing so they can focus on what they do best. Seeing someone gain confidence, launch their first offer, attract new customers, or create a business that provides more freedom is the most rewarding part of what I do.
Ultimately, our mission is simple: to help people turn their expertise into opportunity. Whether someone is just starting a business or looking to scale an existing one, we want them to know they don’t need more complexity—they need clarity, strategy, and systems that work. That’s what Pousye Plus is committed to delivering every day.
What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
If I had to choose one quality that has contributed most to my success, it would be resilience. Every stage of my journey has required me to adapt, learn, and keep moving forward, even when the path wasn’t clear. From starting over after moving from Haiti to the United States to balancing a full-time teaching career while building a business, I’ve learned that persistence often matters more than talent.
I also believe in being a lifelong learner. Marketing, technology, and business are constantly evolving, and I’ve made it a priority to keep growing alongside them. Whether it’s learning new AI tools, becoming a certified sales funnel builder, or finding better ways to serve my clients and students, I believe growth comes from staying curious and being willing to improve every day.
Above all, I try to lead with service. I don’t measure success only by revenue or recognition. I measure it by the impact I have on the people I serve. If I can help someone gain confidence, build a business, create new opportunities, or see what’s possible for their future, then I know I’m doing meaningful work.
That combination of resilience, continuous learning, and a genuine desire to help others has been the foundation of everything I’ve accomplished, and it’s the quality I hope people remember me for.
