Life & Work with Gina Mellish of Miami / South Florida

Today we’d like to introduce you to Gina Mellish.

Hi Gina, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
My pageant journey began as a competitor, earning the titles of Miss New Jersey Teen USA and Miss New Jersey USA, placing Top 10 at Miss USA in 2020. Through those experiences, I discovered my passion wasn’t just competing, it was helping others grow.

What started as coaching a few contestants has grown into Gina Mellish Consulting, an independent consulting firm where I coach women competing across organizations including Miss Universe, Miss USA, Miss America and more. Some of my most notable clients include Miss Universe 2025, Victoria Kjær Theilvig of Denmark, and UmaSofia Srivastava, New Jersey’s first-ever Miss Teen USA.

Today, I have the privilege of helping women build confidence, refine their personal brand and skills, and achieve success both on and off the stage. While winning titles is exciting, the most rewarding part of my work is watching my clients discover their potential and grow into confident leaders.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Like any entrepreneurial journey, it hasn’t always been a smooth road. I was incredibly fortunate that my very first client won Miss New Jersey Teen USA, which gave me confidence that I had found my calling. But coaching also comes with emotional highs and lows. You invest so much in your clients, so it’s difficult when someone has worked tirelessly and doesn’t hear her name called at the end of the night.

Over time, I’ve learned that success isn’t always immediate. Some of my proudest moments have come from watching clients persevere, come back stronger, and eventually achieve their goals. Those experiences have reinforced that growth, resilience, and dedication are just as meaningful as the crown itself, and they make the victories even more rewarding when they come.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
At Gina Mellish Consulting, I provide comprehensive coaching for women competing in pageantry, making the process as seamless as possible by serving as a one-stop shop for my clients. I specialize in personal branding, interview preparation, resume and paperwork development, onstage question, walking and stage presence, and styling.

While I love every aspect of the preparation process, interview coaching has always been my favorite. There’s nothing more rewarding than helping a client discover her story, confidently answer the toughest questions, and deliver a true “mic drop” moment on stage.

What sets me apart is that I don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all approach. Every client receives personalized coaching that reflects who she is, not who I think she should be. My goal is to help each woman build an authentic brand that extends far beyond pageant weekend. I’m most proud of seeing my clients grow in confidence and leave the experience with skills that will serve them for the rest of their lives, whether they’re interviewing for a title, a dream job, or any opportunity that comes their way.

Alright so before we go can you talk to us a bit about how people can work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
The best way to work with me is through Gina Mellish Consulting, where I offer one-on-one coaching for women competing in pageantry at every level. Whether someone is preparing for their first local competition or the Miss Universe stage, I create personalized coaching plans tailored to their goals.

I’m also always open to collaborating with brands, organizations, and events that align with my mission of empowering women through confidence, communication, and personal branding. Support can be as simple as following along on social media, sharing my work, or connecting with me for speaking engagements, workshops, or coaching opportunities.

My goal has always been to help women become the best version of themselves, both on stage and in life, and I’m excited to continue growing that impact through new partnerships and opportunities.
