Exploring Life & Business with Micardy Exume of Solo Wireless

Today we’d like to introduce you to Micardy Exume.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I was born in Haiti and came to the United States with big dreams and a strong work ethic. Like many entrepreneurs, my journey hasn’t been a straight line. I’ve experienced successes, setbacks, moments of doubt, and times when I had to bet on myself even when the odds weren’t in my favor.

In 2016, I opened Solo Wireless in South Florida with a simple goal: provide affordable phones, reliable repairs, and excellent customer service to my community. What started as a small business has grown into something I’m truly proud of. Over the years, I’ve repaired thousands of devices, helped customers stay connected, and built lasting relationships with people who trust me with their technology needs.

Entrepreneurship has taught me lessons no classroom ever could. I’ve learned the importance of discipline, consistency, and staying focused during difficult times. There were days when business was slow and moments when I questioned whether I was on the right path, but I kept showing up. Those experiences shaped me into a stronger business owner and person.

Outside of business, I’m a proud father. Being a dad has changed my perspective on success. It’s no longer just about making money. It’s about building a legacy, creating opportunities, and showing my son that with faith, hard work, and perseverance, anything is possible.

Today, while continuing to grow Solo Wireless, I’m also expanding into real estate investing and other business ventures. I’m passionate about financial education, entrepreneurship, and helping others believe that their current circumstances don’t have to define their future.

My story is still being written, but if there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s that success isn’t about never failing. It’s about continuing to move forward, learning from your mistakes, and refusing to give up on your vision.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Absolutely not. Entrepreneurship has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life, but it has also been one of the hardest.

As an immigrant and small business owner, I had to learn many things on my own. There were times when cash flow was tight, sales were slow, and I questioned whether I was making the right decisions. I’ve made mistakes, trusted the wrong people, invested in things that didn’t work out, and had moments where I felt overwhelmed by the responsibility of running a business.

The phone industry is also very competitive. Technology changes quickly, customer expectations are high, and you have to constantly adapt. There were times I worked long hours just to keep the business moving forward. Being the owner means you’re the salesperson, technician, marketer, accountant, and problem solver all at once.

On top of that, balancing business with being a father has been challenging. I want to provide for my son, but I also want to be present in his life. Learning how to balance ambition with family has been one of my biggest lessons.

But every struggle taught me something valuable. I learned resilience, discipline, and patience. I learned that success isn’t about avoiding failure. It’s about continuing to move forward, adjusting your strategy, and refusing to quit.

Today, I see those difficult moments as part of the journey. They shaped who I am and gave me the confidence to pursue bigger goals, including expanding my investments and creating a lasting legacy for my family and community.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Solo Wireless?
Solo Wireless is a mobile phone retail and repair company that I’ve proudly owned and operated in South Florida since 2016. We specialize in phone repairs, device sales, buy-sell-trade services, prepaid wireless plans, accessories, and helping customers stay connected through affordable technology solutions.

What sets us apart is our commitment to customer service and community. I believe people don’t just want a place to buy a phone. They want someone they can trust. Whether a customer needs a simple screen repair or help choosing the right device and plan for their budget, we take the time to educate them and provide honest recommendations.

Over the years, I’ve had the opportunity to serve thousands of customers from all walks of life. Many of them have become repeat customers and even friends. That’s one of the things I’m most proud of. In a world where everything is becoming automated, I still believe personal relationships and treating people with respect matter.

As an entrepreneur, I’m constantly looking for ways to grow and improve. While Solo Wireless remains my main focus, I’m also passionate about financial education, investing, and real estate. My long-term goal is to build businesses that create opportunities not only for my family but for my community as well.

I want readers to know that Solo Wireless is more than a phone store. It’s a trusted part of the community and the result of years of hard work, perseverance, and faith.

What do you like and dislike about the city?
What I love most about South Florida is the diversity and the opportunities. People here come from all over the world with different backgrounds, cultures, and stories, yet everyone is chasing their own version of the American Dream. As someone who was born in Haiti and built a business here, I’ve always appreciated how welcoming and entrepreneurial this community is.

I also love the weather, the beaches, and the energy of the area. There’s always something happening, and I enjoy being part of a community that supports local businesses and encourages growth.

What I like least is how expensive it has become over the years. Housing costs and the cost of living continue to rise, which can make it challenging for families and small business owners. Traffic can also be frustrating at times.

That said, I still believe South Florida is one of the best places to live, work, and build a business. It’s a place full of opportunity, and I’m grateful to call it home.
