Today we’d like to introduce you to Daphney Paul.
Hi Daphney, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
My name is Daphney Paul, Born in Haiti and my journey in the beauty industry began in 2007, but my passion started long before that.
As a little girl, I was surrounded by creativity. My mother was a talented seamstress who taught me how to make my own clothes. I watched my aunt and my second older sister do hair, while my oldest sister perfected her makeup. I was so fascinated by beauty that I would secretly steal my sister’s makeup just to practice and experiment on my own.
While in high school, I attended law school classes at the same time and even signed up to join the Army. But deep down, my heart was always pulling me toward beauty. Despite my father’s disapproval, I chose to follow my passion and enrolled in beauty school. I was a bit of a rebel, but I knew what I wanted.
Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of helping countless people look and feel their best on some of the most important days of their lives. I’ve also had the opportunity to work with celebrities such as Sean Paul, Patrice Lovely, Erica Campbell, and Tory Lanez, just to name a few.
As my career grew, I realized that many talented makeup artists were not receiving the recognition they deserved. That realization inspired me to create the South Florida Makeup Awards. What started as a platform to honor makeup artists has now evolved into the South Florida Beauty Awards, recognizing hairstylists, barbers, nail technicians, and beauty professionals across the industry. For the past five years, the event has been a success, and I am excited for what is ahead. May 2027 is going to be an incredible year for the beauty community.
In addition to the awards, I also created an exclusive networking experience called Bosses In Motion, where entrepreneurs and business professionals come together for meaningful conversations, dinner, guest speakers, recognition, and collaboration. This year’s event will take place on December 19th in Fort Lauderdale.
The journey has not always been easy, but it has been worth every challenge. Today, my mission goes beyond beauty. I love inspiring others, creating opportunities, and helping people grow while continuing to do what I love most. Beauty gave me a purpose, but empowering others has become my legacy.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
The journey has been far from easy. Along the way, I’ve been overlooked, taken for granted, used, underestimated, and disrespected. There were moments when I questioned myself, faced financial struggles, dealt with disappointment, lost opportunities, and experienced betrayals from people I trusted. As a single mother, there were times when balancing family, business, and personal challenges felt overwhelming.
There were days I wanted to give up, but my passion, faith, and determination kept me going. Every setback became a lesson, every obstacle made me stronger, and every challenge helped shape the woman and entrepreneur I am today.
We’ve been impressed with Daphney Paul Llc & YesFalor LLC, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
