Today we’d like to introduce you to Ray Orozco.
Hi Ray, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My story is really about learning that it’s okay to choose yourself again.
I became a mother at a young age, and while it was one of the greatest blessings in my life, I also carried a lot of pressure. Whether it came from society, other people’s opinions, or expectations I placed on myself, I felt like I constantly had something to prove. I wanted to prove that I could be a great mother, a supportive wife, build a successful career, keep a beautiful home, and somehow do it all perfectly.
For years, I chased the idea of being the “perfect” mom and wife. What I didn’t realize at the time was that in trying to be everything for everyone else, I was slowly losing sight of myself. I wasn’t unhappy, but I had stopped prioritizing my own growth, health, and well-being.
The turning point wasn’t a dramatic moment—it was a series of small decisions. I started showing up for myself again. I returned to fitness, focused on building healthier habits, started running, and committed to keeping promises to myself. Little by little, those habits rebuilt my confidence and reminded me that taking care of myself wasn’t selfish—it was necessary.
Throughout this journey, I’ve continued building my career, raising my children, supporting my family, and now embracing new chapters and new challenges. Along the way, I began sharing my experiences because I realized so many women feel the same pressure I once did: the pressure to have it all together, all the time.
Today, my mission is simple. I want to remind people—especially women—that they don’t need to be perfect to be successful, happy, or worthy. You don’t have to choose between caring for others and caring for yourself. Real transformation happens when you stop trying to prove yourself to the world and start showing up for yourself instead.
If there’s one lesson I’ve learned, it’s that the life you want isn’t built through one big decision—it’s built through hundreds of small promises you keep to yourself along the way.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
No, it definitely hasn’t been a smooth road, but looking back, I’m grateful for the challenges because they’ve shaped who I am today.
One of the biggest struggles was becoming a mother at a young age. While I love my family deeply, I felt a tremendous amount of pressure to prove myself. I wanted to show that I could be a successful mother, wife, and professional while keeping everything together. For a long time, I believed that asking for help or slowing down meant I was failing.
As the years went on, I realized that constantly trying to meet everyone’s expectations came at a cost. I spent so much time taking care of others that I neglected my own health, goals, and personal growth. There were periods where I felt disconnected from myself and unsure of who I was outside of my responsibilities.
Balancing a career, raising children, maintaining relationships, and pursuing personal goals has never been easy. There were plenty of moments of self doubt, exhaustion, and frustration. I’ve had to learn that progress isn’t always linear and that setbacks don’t mean failure.
One of the most valuable lessons I’ve learned is that perfection is not the goal. Growth is. The moment I stopped trying to prove myself to everyone else and started focusing on becoming a little better each day was when things began to change.
Today, I still face challenges, but I approach them differently. I’ve learned to give myself grace.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
Professionally, I work in operations and sales support within the technology distribution industry, where I help manage processes, coordinate with multiple teams, and solve problems in a fast paced environment. My career has taught me the importance of organization, communication, adaptability, and consistency skills that have translated into every area of my life.
What I’m most proud of is building a life that reflects resilience and balance. I’ve learned how to continue growing as a person while still showing up for my family, my career, and my goals. Whether prioritizing my health, navigating major life transitions, or encouraging others through my content, I’m proud of the consistency I’ve maintained through both the highs and lows.
I think what sets me apart is my authenticity. I’m not sharing a picture perfect version of life. I’m sharing the real journey of someone who is still growing, learning, and evolving. Many people see fitness, confidence, or success as the end result, but I’m passionate about documenting the process. I want people to know that you don’t need to have everything figured out to start becoming the person you want to be.
How do you think about luck?
I think luck has played a role in my journey, but not always in the way people expect.
One of the biggest turning points in my life came during the COVID-19 pandemic. At the time, like many people, I experienced uncertainty, stress, and a complete disruption of normal life. What initially felt like bad luck ended up creating space for reflection. For the first time in a long time, I slowed down enough to evaluate where I was, what I wanted, and who I wanted to become.
During that period, I began focusing more intentionally on my health, personal growth, and the habits that would eventually help me rebuild my confidence. Looking back, what seemed like a setback became an opportunity to reconnect with myself and make changes that I had been putting off for years.
I also believe that luck often shows up as opportunity, but it’s what we do with that opportunity that matters. Throughout my life, I’ve been fortunate to have supportive people around me and moments that opened new doors. At the same time, many of the things I’m most proud of came from consistency, hard work, and continuing to move forward even when the path wasn’t clear.
If I’ve learned anything, it’s that sometimes what feels like bad luck in the moment can become one of the greatest blessings later on. Some of the experiences that challenged me the most ultimately helped shape the person I am today.
