Exploring Life & Business with Brittany Eagans of Be Wed

Today we’d like to introduce you to Brittany Eagans.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Honestly, Be Wed wasn’t some grand business plan I mapped out years in advance. It started out of necessity.

Back in 2014, I was working under another wedding planning company that was changing/ declining. At the time, I had several couples and friends who still needed support with their weddings and were asking me what they should do next. I didn’t have a big strategy or five-year plan in place. I simply knew I wasn’t ready to walk away from the relationships I had built or the work I genuinely loved.

So I took a leap and started Be Wed.

What began as a way to help a handful of couples quickly grew through referrals, word of mouth, and a lot of hard work. Over the years, we’ve gone from a one-woman operation to a team of incredible planners producing weddings throughout Sarasota, Tampa Bay, and beyond.

Looking back, it’s funny because I never set out thinking, “I’m going to build a wedding planning company.” I just wanted to take great care of people. More than a decade later, that’s still the foundation of everything we do. The weddings have become larger, the team has grown, and the business has evolved, but at the core it’s still about building relationships, creating unforgettable experiences, and helping our couples enjoy one of the most important seasons of their lives.

It’s been an incredible journey, and I feel very lucky that what started as an unexpected opportunity turned into a career and company I truly love.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Definitely not, but I honestly think that’s part of being a business owner.

There have been plenty of challenges over the years, from navigating growth and building a team to learning how to balance the demands of running a business while still showing up for my clients and family. But every experience, good or bad, has taught me something valuable.

I truly believe some of the biggest lessons come from the toughest moments. Those challenges have helped shape both me and Be Wed into what we are today, and I wouldn’t trade those experiences because they’ve made us stronger.

We’ve been impressed with Be Wed, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Be Wed is a luxury wedding planning company based in Sarasota, Florida, and for the past 12 years we’ve had the honor of helping couples bring their wedding visions to life throughout Florida and beyond.

What sets us apart is that we’re relationship-driven first. Beautiful weddings are important, of course, but our focus has always been creating an incredible planning experience. We want our couples to feel supported, cared for, and genuinely excited throughout the process, not overwhelmed by it.

We’re known for blending exceptional organization with a warm, approachable style. Our clients often tell us they feel like they’re planning with a trusted friend who also happens to have a color-coded spreadsheet for everything.

What I’m most proud of is the reputation we’ve built. So much of our business comes from referrals from past clients, vendors, and venues, which is the greatest compliment we could receive. At the end of the day, our goal is simple: create beautiful celebrations while making the planning process enjoyable, stress-free, and memorable for all the right reasons.

We love surprises, fun facts and unexpected stories. Is there something you can share that might surprise us?
Honestly, I think people would be surprised by how much of our success comes down to relationships.

We’re not trying to be the coolest company in the room. We don’t take ourselves too seriously. We laugh a lot, we’re incredibly invested in our couples, and we genuinely care about the people we work with. I think that’s why so many of our clients become friends long after their wedding day is over.

At the core, we’re just real people who happen to be really good at planning weddings and events.
