Today we’d like to introduce you to Luke Lewis.

Hi Luke, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I am Luke Lewis commissioner of North Lauderdale district A. But before public office I am a tour musician that roots started and continues in church. I have played for artists such as mavado, Kent jones, alkaline. I wrote my first book titled from musician to municipality. And serve as the founder and principal of ST LUKE CHRISTIAN ACADEMY in Oakland park Florida.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
I am grateful for my journey never was easy. came from humble beginnings But I remained consistent and dedicated. I was the youngest elected commissioner in the city and Broward County history when I was sworn in. My predecessor for my seat on the commission was my mom’s administrator at the school she was working at

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
One of my proudest moments as a musician was being featured on the Jimmy Kimmel late night show. And of course, being reelected for my seat on the city commission is the greatest
Feeling.
