Life & Work with Katherine Viloria of Naples, FL

Today we’d like to introduce you to Katherine Viloria.

Katherine, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I’ve always been drawn to storytelling. After graduating from the University of South Florida with a degree in Journalism, I built my career in a variety of creative fields, including TV news, radio, marketing, and public relations. In each role, I found myself working with cameras and visual media in some capacity, but what I loved most was always the opportunity to tell meaningful stories.

Photography started as a creative outlet that gradually became something much bigger. The more I photographed people and their lives, the more I realized how powerful a single image can be in preserving memories and emotions. As my photography business grew, I took a leap of faith and decided to pursue it full-time.

Today, I’m a wife, a mom to two beautiful daughters, and a photographer based in Naples, Florida. Becoming a mother gave me an even deeper appreciation for the fleeting moments that make up our lives and relationships. I love documenting love stories and all the chapters that grow from them. From engagements and weddings to growing families and everything in between.

For me, photography is about more than creating beautiful images. It’s about capturing authentic connections, preserving memories, and telling stories that families will cherish for generations.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It definitely hasn’t been a completely smooth road. As a business owner and creative, I’m constantly pushing myself to learn new skills, stay current with trends, and find fresh ways to serve my clients. Balancing that with being a mom to two young daughters can be challenging at times.

Living and working in Southwest Florida also means being surrounded by an incredibly talented and creative photography community. While that’s inspiring, it also pushes me to continually evolve, refine my craft, and find ways to stand out.

That said, I’ve learned that growth often comes from those challenges. Every obstacle has made me a better photographer, business owner, and storyteller. The passion I have for documenting people’s lives and preserving their memories is what keeps me motivated and excited for what’s next.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I specialize in capturing life’s most meaningful moments, from engagements and weddings to maternity, newborns, children, family sessions, anniversaries, reunions, and special events. One thing I’ve never wanted to do is put myself in a box. Every stage of life has a story worth telling, and I genuinely enjoy documenting those moments, whatever they may be.

One of my proudest accomplishments was being named Best of the Gulfshore 2024 in Collier County. It was an incredible honor because it reflected the support of the community and clients who have trusted me to capture some of their most important memories.

What sets me apart is the relationships I build with the people I photograph. While I’m a business owner, I’m also a local resident, a wife, and a mother of two. I understand how meaningful these moments are because I cherish them in my own life as well. I strive to connect with every client on a human level, creating an experience that feels comfortable, genuine, and personal. I always approach my work with humility and gratitude, and I think that helps people feel at ease in front of my camera.

Is there a quality that you most attribute to your success?
I believe the most important quality behind my success is genuine connection. Photography is about more than taking beautiful images. It’s about making people feel comfortable enough to be themselves. When clients trust me, that’s when the most authentic moments happen. I strive to approach every session with kindness, humility, and a genuine interest in the people and stories I’m capturing.
