Today we’d like to introduce you to Paula Zuleta.
Hi Paula, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Paula Zuleta (Paula Murillo) is a Colombian-born singer, music director, entrepreneur, and Latin Grammy nominee who immigrated to the United States more than 23 years ago in pursuit of new opportunities and a better future for her family. After settling in Miami, she built a career in the music industry through perseverance, passion, and a deep commitment to the Latino community.
With more than two decades of professional experience, Paula is known for her work as a former vocalist of Grupo Niche and for her contributions to numerous Latin music projects. Today, she is the Founder, Owner, and Music Director of Paz Entertainment LLC, a Miami-based entertainment company that has grown steadily over the past eight years and earned the respect of the South Florida community for its professionalism, quality productions, and outstanding live performances.
Through Paz Entertainment, Paula not only produces high-level entertainment for corporate events, weddings, festivals, and private celebrations, but also creates opportunities for fellow artists. Her talent network includes more than 200 musicians, singers, dancers, DJs, and entertainers, making her company a valuable platform for promoting and supporting Latino talent throughout South Florida.
As an immigrant, mother, artist, and business owner, Paula is passionate about empowering others and demonstrating that success is possible through hard work, integrity, and dedication. Her mission is to continue creating opportunities, elevating Latino artists, and bringing people together through the universal language of music.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
No, it has definitely not been a smooth road. One of the biggest challenges I faced as an immigrant was learning English and becoming confident enough to communicate professionally in a language that was not my own.
When I arrived in Miami more than 23 years ago, I knew that if I wanted to grow beyond the Latino music community and expand my opportunities, I needed to improve my English. I studied English at Miami Dade College and, over time, through practice, work, and daily interactions, I became comfortable communicating with clients, venues, vendors, and professionals from many different backgrounds.
For me, learning English was about much more than speaking another language. It was about breaking down barriers, building confidence, and opening doors for my business. It allowed me to expand Paz Entertainment into new markets and connect with a broader community throughout South Florida.
Of course, there were many other challenges along the way—building a business from the ground up, balancing family and career, and earning trust in a highly competitive industry. But overcoming the language barrier was one of the most important milestones in my journey because it gave me the confidence to grow both personally and professionally.
Today, I am proud to say that while English is still my second language, I can confidently communicate, negotiate, and lead my company. Looking back, what once felt like an obstacle became one of my greatest achievements.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
One of the things that truly sets me apart is my versatility. Throughout my career, I have learned to perform and connect with audiences from many different cultural backgrounds. Living and working in Miami, one of the most diverse cities in the world, has taught me the importance of understanding people, traditions, and musical preferences from many different cultures.
What I specialize in is creating entertainment experiences that feel personal and authentic. Rather than offering the same show for every event, I take the time to understand my clients, their guests, and the cultural identity they want to celebrate. Whether the audience is American, Latin American, Caribbean, European, or a combination of cultures, I work closely with my team to customize the music, presentation, and energy of the event to fit their vision.
Through Paz Entertainment, I have built a diverse network of talented musicians and performers who can seamlessly adapt to different styles and audiences. Our shows can move naturally from Latin music to American classics, dance music, international favorites, and culturally specific selections, creating a unique experience that resonates with every guest.
I am also known for being very hands-on with my clients. I genuinely care about their events and always strive to make the planning process easier for them. I don’t see myself as simply providing entertainment; I see myself as helping create memories that people will talk about long after the event is over.
What I am most proud of is that over the years, we have earned the trust and respect of our community by consistently delivering high-quality experiences while celebrating the diversity that makes South Florida so special. My goal has always been simple: to make every event feel unique, meaningful, and unforgettable.
So, before we go, how can our readers or others connect or collaborate with you? How can they support you?
There are many ways people can work with, collaborate with, or support me and Paz Entertainment.
For clients, we provide customized live entertainment for corporate events, weddings, festivals, cultural celebrations, private parties, and special events throughout South Florida and beyond. We work closely with each client to create a unique experience that reflects their vision, audience, and culture.
For artists and performers, I am always excited to connect with talented musicians, singers, dancers, DJs, and entertainers who are passionate about their craft. One of the missions of Paz Entertainment is to create opportunities and help talented artists showcase their abilities. Over the years, we have built a network of more than 200 performers, and we continue to grow that community.
I am especially passionate about supporting new artists who arrive in Miami and are trying to find their place in the industry. I understand firsthand how challenging it can be to start over in a new city and build professional connections. Whenever possible, I enjoy mentoring emerging talent, helping them understand the local music scene, introducing them to opportunities, and connecting them with other professionals so they can begin creating their own path. Seeing other artists grow and succeed is one of the most rewarding parts of what I do.
For fellow business owners, event planners, venues, and organizations, collaboration is one of the keys to success. I love building relationships, supporting community events, and partnering with professionals who share a commitment to excellence and creating memorable experiences.
And for those who simply want to support our work, the best way is by attending our performances, following us on social media, sharing our content, and recommending us to others. Every connection, referral, and collaboration helps us continue our mission of bringing people together through music while creating opportunities for artists in our community.
At the heart of everything we do is a simple goal: to create unforgettable experiences, celebrate cultural diversity, and use music as a way to connect people from all walks of life.
