Daily Inspiration: Meet Alvaro “DJ C” Noguera

Today we’d like to introduce you to Alvaro “DJ C” Noguera.

Hi Alvaro “DJ C”, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
My name is Alvaro Noguera, better known by my stage name, DJ C. I was born on July 2, 1990, in León, Nicaragua, and moved to Miami at the age of 11.

I’ve always loved & been passionate about music. As a kid, I would pretend my action figures were performers and have them “sing” along to my favorite songs. As a teenager, I became what you could call a chronic music downloader. I spent countless hours discovering new music, downloading songs, burning CDs, building collections, and sharing them with friends.

At 16, I discovered DJing, and it quickly became clear that it was the perfect outlet for my passion for music and curation. I started playing house parties for friends and events at my high school. Not long after, I found Miami’s “all ages” scene, a thriving community of promoters hosting teen nights at local venues. I was immediately hooked. I loved everything about it, the hustle of promoting events and selling tickets, and the dream of one day being the kid behind the decks.

At 17, I became a father. What had started as a fun hobby and a love for music suddenly became my first opportunity to provide for my son and build a living doing something I genuinely loved. I dove in headfirst.

As I got older, I broke into Miami’s club scene and began securing residencies throughout Downtown Miami. Over time, I realized my niche was Latin urban music. My knowledge of the culture and passion for the genre opened doors I never imagined. I was fortunate to become part of one of the most iconic concert series of that era, serving as the opening DJ for legends such as Tego Calderón, Daddy Yankee, Plan B, and J Balvin during his first concert in Miami, among many others.

As the years went by, I became a staple in the Latin urban music scene, both headlining and opening major events. One of the most memorable moments of my career, and one that would later come full circle, was opening for Bad Bunny at his very first club performance in Miami. I later opened for him again at ToeJam and, years later, during his “El Último Tour Del Mundo” arena tour at the Kaseya Center.

In 2016, I landed my first out of state residency in Dallas, Texas. That opportunity opened the door to touring and headlining major venues across the country. I later toured alongside international recording artists Leslie Grace and Kevin Roldán, which expanded my reach into international markets and led to bookings throughout Canada, Colombia, Mexico, and Europe.

Along the way, I also began producing and releasing music independently. Today, my catalog has accumulated over one million streams across platforms, with my most recognized releases being “La Nota” and “Perreo Sandungueo.”

More than anything, I’m proud of the movement and culture that helped shape my career. Latin urban music has become a global force, and I take pride in having contributed to its growth by sharing its energy, culture, and joy with audiences across countless venues and stages throughout the years.

I’m a firm believer in following your dreams. When you work hard for the things you’re passionate about, the challenges and setbacks you encounter eventually become stepping stones and simpli a part of the path that leads you where you’re meant to be.

Today, I’m focused on what I like to call my “last major run” exploring new cities, creating new music, embracing new opportunities, and having even more fun along the way. And who knows? “Last” can last a very long time.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
When you follow your passion there is no such thing as a smooth road, life will come at you in every direction. Doubt, struggle, trying to figure out if you made the right choice & have the determination to stay consistent even when everything is going wrong.
