Hi Manjula, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I have been fortunate because I began my career during the inception of nonsurgical cosmetic dermatology, which gave me the opportunity to closely watch the field evolve from its earliest stages. That long view has shaped the way I think about treatment, because I have seen firsthand that the best results are not just immediate, but durable, natural, and consistent over time.
From the beginning, I was drawn to the idea of helping patients look refreshed without looking overdone. As the field expanded, my philosophy stayed centered on maintaining natural beauty, preserving facial balance, and using treatments in a way that enhances a person’s features rather than changing them dramatically. That has remained the foundation of Miami Skin Institute.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
One of the greatest challenges has been navigating a field that changes quickly while still staying true to sound clinical judgment. New technologies, devices, and injectable techniques are always emerging, but not every innovation deserves immediate adoption. I have always believed that it is important to evaluate new treatments carefully and ask whether they truly improve outcomes over time.
Another challenge has been preserving a personal, boutique experience in an environment that can easily become rushed or commercialized. I wanted to build a practice where patients feel known, heard, and cared for as individuals, not processed through a system. Balancing that level of personalization with advanced medical care takes discipline, but it is essential to the kind of practice I wanted to create.
We’ve been impressed with Miami Skin Institute, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
My work at Miami Skin Institute is centered on delivering advanced cosmetic dermatology with precision, restraint, and a strong emphasis on natural results. That includes injectable treatments, laser procedures, skin tightening, and other nonsurgical options that help patients improve skin quality, soften signs of aging, and feel more confident in their appearance. This combination approach creates an ageless beauty over decades that persists and looks much more “normal” than the over injected look that was common in the early 2000’s when botox and filler injections were all we had.
What is especially important to me is that each treatment plan is individualized. I do not believe in a one-size-fits-all approach. I look at the patient’s features, skin condition, goals, and long-term priorities, then recommend treatments that make sense both now and in the future. My goal is always to achieve results that are elegant, balanced, and appropriate for the individual.
Before we let you go, we’ve got to ask if you have any advice for those who are just starting out?
My advice to anyone starting out is to focus first on becoming an excellent clinician and a thoughtful observer. It is tempting to follow trends or rely heavily on what is popular at the moment, but lasting success comes from developing strong judgment, technical skill, and a genuine understanding of patient anatomy and needs.
I would also say to be patient with growth and to value consistency over speed. A practice built on trust, careful results, and good patient relationships will always have a stronger foundation than one built on hype. Stay curious, keep learning, and never lose sight of the fact that the best aesthetic medicine is both artful and conservative.
