Rising Stars: Meet Gloria Arrington of Other

Today we’d like to introduce you to Gloria Arrington.

Hi Gloria, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I started the podcast in 2019 with a small group of friends, and it actually all began in a Panic! At The Disco Discord server that I owned. The original members of the podcast were all staff in that server, so it naturally grew out of a shared love for music and community.

In the beginning, it functioned more like an online radio show we would go live, listen to new releases together, and give our real time reactions and reviews.

As time went on, the podcast evolved and so did the team. People naturally went in different directions, and now it’s something I run independently.

It’s been really special to see it grow from a small, community driven project into something much bigger, while still keeping that same passion for music at its core 🙂

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
One of the biggest challenges I’ve faced has been maintaining a healthy work-life balance. I’m the type of person who fully commits to the things I’m passionate about, and with the podcast, that’s meant managing a really high volume of interest from artists who want to be featured.

Balancing interviews, editing, scheduling, uploading, and recording reviews on top of maintaining a social life and running my baking business has definitely been overwhelming at times.

Over time, I’ve learned how to create a better system and workflow that helps me stay organized and avoid burnout. It’s still something I actively work on, but it’s taught me a lot about time management, boundaries, and prioritization.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Hi, my name is Glory, and I’m the host of the Good Noise Podcast, where I interview bands and artists in the alternative music scene. I’ve been doing this since 2019, and over the years I’ve had the chance to speak with so many of my favorite artists, which has been incredibly rewarding.

I’m currently partnered with idobi Radio, one of the largest alternative music radio stations in the country, and I regularly attend festivals and concerts where I do backstage interviews.

What I’m most proud of is the environment I create during my interviews. Even when I’ve just met an artist, I focus on making the space feel comfortable, lighthearted, and genuine so they can open up, be themselves, and have conversations that go a little deeper than the typical interview.

I think what sets me apart is that balance of professionalism and authenticity. Artists don’t just feel interviewed.. they feel understood.

Can you share something surprising about yourself?
Something people are usually surprised to learn about me is that outside of music, I run a baking business and I absolutely love cooking.

It’s a completely different creative outlet for me, but in a lot of ways it balances what I do with the podcast. Baking and cooking are a lot more hands on and grounding, whereas the podcast is more fast-paced and social.

I think both sides really reflect who I am I just love creating, whether that’s through conversations with artists or making something from scratch in the kitchen 🙂
