Daily Inspiration: Meet Sharmon Simonetti

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sharmon Simonetti.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
When I moved to Florida, I truly believed a change in location would make my life perfect. I thought a fresh start, new surroundings, and distance from everything weighing me down in NJ would finally bring me peace, clarity, and happiness. Palm trees would soothe my soul. In my mind, Florida represented freedom — a chance to leave behind all the negativity in my life.
But what I discovered after the move was something much deeper: changing my environment wasn’t enough because change doesn’t happen by moving. Yes, I needed to find a new hair stylist and dentist, but that kind of change wasn’t going to bring me the relief I was looking for.
That realization was difficult at first. I had spent so much time believing that external circumstances were the reason I felt unhappy or unfulfilled. But eventually, I had to face the truth that if I wanted my life to truly change, I had to change. And I definitely wanted a new profession, so I started a YouTube channel – and that became the turning point in my story.
I also began doing the inner work — questioning old beliefs, setting boundaries, and reconnecting with who I actually was underneath years of people-pleasing, emotional burnout, and self-doubt. Instead of waiting for life to rescue me, I started taking responsibility for my own healing and growth.
What makes this journey meaningful to me is that it taught me transformation isn’t about running away or starting over somewhere new. It’s about becoming someone new internally. Florida didn’t magically change my life — but it gave me the inspiration to finally change myself.
And that changed everything.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
At the time, my personal life felt completely out of control. My marriage was deeply painful, and one of the hardest parts of that season was becoming estranged from my oldest daughter. There was so much emotional turmoil happening behind closed doors that I barely recognized myself anymore. I felt disconnected, overwhelmed, and emotionally exhausted.
Ironically, while my personal life was unraveling, my YouTube channel was growing. What started as a creative outlet became something much more meaningful for me. It gave me purpose during a time when I felt lost. It became the one place where I still felt connected to myself.
In many ways, my channel became my anchor.
Creating content brought me moments of peace, clarity, and joy when everything else felt unstable. And through that process, I slowly began to realize something important: the unhappiness I was carrying wasn’t something I could outrun by moving somewhere new. It wasn’t just about my circumstances. It was about the patterns, pain, and beliefs I had ignored for years.
That realization changed the direction of my life.
Instead of searching for external fixes, I began doing the internal work. I started rebuilding my confidence, learning healthier boundaries, examining the dynamics in my relationships, and reconnecting with who I was underneath years of emotional burnout and self-abandonment.
Looking back now, I can see that some of my greatest pain became the starting point for my greatest growth. And the platform that once simply brought me comfort became part of the path that helped me find myself again.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Most people know me as the “shell lady” on YouTube. I’m one of those people that you can take to a Florida beach and I’ll identify just about anything we find. Many people have found my channel by doing research about their upcoming beach vacation, or they want help identifying what shells they found on their Florida vacation.
What I’m most proud of is that I kept showing up authentically even during difficult times, and in doing so, built a community centered around hope, encouragement, resilience, and finding beauty even in hard seasons of life.
I think what sets me apart is that I’m not coming from a place of perfection or having all the answers. My message comes from lived experience. I haven’t shared any of my personal struggles on my channel. I consider that a “sacred space” where I get to be the happiest and best version of myself. I don’t think sharing my struggles would help anyone – but sharing what I’ve learned about gratitude and showing up authentically I share freely on a consistent basis. I think people connect with the fact that I am real, evolving, and honest.

At the heart of everything I do — whether it’s teaching about shells, sharing the peace of the beach, or encouraging people to rediscover themselves — it’s really about helping people reconnect with joy, purpose, and who they truly are. So much so I have become certified as a Life Coach and I hope to help others find their joy the way I have found mine.

Do you have any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
I really enjoyed 6th grade. I was on the ski club, I was a member of hall patrol and I got the female lead in the school play. It was a great year.
