Today we’d like to introduce you to Carolina Tamayo.
Hi Carolina, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
My journey began with a deep love for design. I am a fashion designer by training, and that creative foundation has shaped everything I’ve built.
Becoming a mother added a new dimension to my life it challenged me to keep creating, but also to redefine what creativity truly meant for me. That’s when The Pink Studio was born.
What started in Medellín, Colombia, is now a creative studio based in Miami, where we’ve been established for the past five years. We’ve been in the market for around six to seven years as a small but highly curated agency focused on visual storytelling, fashion, and content creation.
We’ve had the privilege of working with incredible fashion and lifestyle brands such as Agua Bendita, baobab, as well as personal and emerging brands that we help build through strong visual narratives.
A very important part of my growth has been my personal brand, which I’ve been building organically day by day. Thanks to that, I’ve been able to connect with new clients, open doors to new brands, and also work directly as a creator for major brands, which has expanded both my vision and my reach within the industry.
What defines us is our attention to detail, our aesthetic sensitivity, and the way we translate a brand’s essence into elevated, emotional, and intentional content.
Today, I continue to be both a creator and a mother, building a studio that feels like an extension of my vision where design, storytelling, and strategy come together.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
t definitely hasn’t been a completely smooth road. I think one of the biggest challenges has been relocating and adapting to a new country and culture. Even though Miami is a very Latino city, building visibility for my studio and myself in a new market has been one of the most challenging parts of the journey.
It has been more about stepping out of my comfort zone in terms of exposure, positioning, and making my work known in a new environment, rather than communication itself.
That process has required a lot of consistency and resilience, especially when it comes to showing up, trusting my voice, and continuing to build my brand in a very competitive space.
But at the same time, those challenges have shaped me a lot. They’ve pushed me to grow and to stand more confidently behind what I do as a creative and as a studio.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
My work is very clean, both emotionally and in terms of deliverables. I specialize in creating content and in evoking emotion through imagery and photography.
We are also a curated creative agency, and we approach every detail with a very intentional and refined eye. That level of detail and aesthetic sensitivity is what has helped me become recognizable within the industry. Because of that, I often work with fashion brands, beauty brands, and personal brands most of them led by women.
What I’m most proud of is everything I’ve built, especially finding the balance between being a mother and an entrepreneur while still pursuing my dreams. I have so many dreams so many and I truly feel this is only the beginning of what I can achieve. I’m currently in a beautiful stage where I can already start seeing the results of what I’ve been building over time.
I’m proud of being able to create something from scratch, of being intentional, and of staying disciplined. Even though at times it can feel overwhelming or cause anxiety—because I’m constantly thinking about what’s next and how to keep creating I also recognize the talent I have. That’s something that isn’t always easy for me to fully acknowledge, but it’s something I consciously work on every day.
And I think that is what sets me apart: my level of sensitivity, discipline, and the emotional depth I bring into everything I create.
What makes you happy?
What makes me happy is creating. Being able to turn ideas into visuals and emotions is something that fulfills me deeply.
I find a lot of joy in the process itself in the details, in the concept behind an image, and in seeing something come to life from nothing.
I’m also very happy when I’m building something meaningful, whether it’s for a brand, a project, or my own studio. That sense of creation and purpose gives me energy.
And on a more personal level, my biggest happiness comes from my role as a mother. It grounds me, inspires me, and constantly reminds me of why I do what I do. My work and my life are very connected, and both feed each other in a very beautiful way.
I think what makes me happy is being in constant creation emotionally, visually, and personally and feeling that I’m growing while doing what I love.
