Today we’d like to introduce you to Miki Racine.
Hi Miki, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I’ve always had a passion for people, storytelling, and community. Before becoming a wedding officiant, I worked as a corporate trainer, so I was already comfortable speaking in front of large groups, keeping people engaged, and communicating in a way that felt meaningful and relatable. Around that same time, I also discovered my love for storytelling in a more personal way through my relationship with my wife, Claudine. When we were dating and even after we got married (over a decade ago) I enjoyed writing her love letters. She always encouraged my creativity and communication style, and over time she pushed me to lean more into those gifts professionally.
Born and raised in South Florida, I’ve always felt deeply connected to the community here. As a Haitian-American who speaks both English and Haitian Kreyòl, I also noticed a cultural gap within the wedding industry. Many couples wanted ceremonies that felt modern and professional while still honoring their culture, language, and family traditions. I wanted to help fill that gap and create experiences where people felt fully seen and understood.
That became the foundation of Mr. Officiant and Rooted in Love Marriage Ministries, which Claudine and I co-founded together.
What started with officiating weddings eventually evolved into something much bigger. Today, we not only officiate weddings, but also host marriage conferences and community events, conduct workshops for churches and organizations, create digital relationship resources for couples, and speak with teens and young adults about relationship readiness and healthy relationship behaviors. A huge part of our mission is helping the next generation build stronger communication skills, healthier relationships, and more intentional foundations before marriage even begins.
At the center of everything we do is storytelling, education, connection, and community. Whether I’m officiating a ceremony, facilitating a workshop, speaking at a school, or leading premarital sessions, my goal is always the same: to create experiences that people genuinely feel and remember. I believe weddings and relationships are about more than just events; they’re about legacy, family, culture, and human connection and being trusted to do this work is something I never take lightly.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road, but the challenges helped shape both me and the business. Building a brand in South Florida’s competitive wedding industry while balancing family, faith, and entrepreneurship has required a lot of discipline and growth. One thing I quickly realized was that while my strengths were in public speaking, storytelling, relationship education, and connecting with people; content creation, marketing strategy, and social media required a different skill set.
That’s where my wife Claudine has played a major role as our Chief Marketing Officer. She brings balance to the business, helps keep the brand top of mind for couples, leads much of our creative and social media strategy, and has allowed both of us to flourish in our respective roles. We’ve truly learned how to operate as a team, and I believe that partnership, consistency, and shared vision have been a major part of what’s helped us overcome challenges, grow the business, and stay grounded throughout the process.
As entrepreneurs, we also wanted to bridge cultural gaps by creating ceremonies and experiences that felt both modern and culturally authentic, which sometimes meant navigating different traditions, languages, and expectations. Over time, those experiences pushed us to think beyond simply officiating weddings and focus more on storytelling, marriage preparation, community, and meaningful connection.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’m a wedding officiant, marriage educator, workshop facilitator, and public speaker based in South Florida. Through Mr. Officiant and Rooted in Love Marriage Ministries, my wife Claudine and I help couples create intentional relationships through personalized wedding ceremonies, premarital coaching, workshops, conferences, digital resources, and community-based relationship education. We also work with teens and young adults to help them better understand healthy relationship behaviors, communication, and relationship readiness.
I’m especially known for my storytelling style, public speaking ability, and the way I’m able to command a room while still making people feel connected and engaged. Whether I’m officiating a wedding, facilitating a workshop, or speaking to a group of young people, I do my best to create experiences that feel personal, intentional, and memorable. I also take pride in being culturally aware and emotionally intelligent in the way I connect with couples, families, and audiences from different backgrounds and traditions.
What I’m most proud of is the relationships we’ve built with the couples and families we’ve served over the years. Seeing couples continue to grow together, build families, and thrive in their relationships reminds me that this work is much bigger than a wedding day — it’s purpose-driven work. I’m also incredibly proud to build this alongside my wife Claudine, whose creativity, vision, and leadership have helped us grow the brand into something rooted in faith, community, and meaningful connection.
Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting out?
My biggest advice is to start before you feel fully ready and don’t be afraid to put yourself out there. A lot of entrepreneurs spend too much time waiting for the perfect moment, perfect branding, or perfect plan instead of simply taking action. I’ve also learned that social proof matters- people want to see consistency, professionalism, and real examples of your work, so don’t be afraid to promote yourself and share your journey. Even if you start small, keep showing up, keep improving, and trust that growth comes through repetition, relationships, and consistency over time.
