Daily Inspiration: Meet Nicole McCauley

Today we’d like to introduce you to Nicole McCauley.

Hi Nicole, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I was born in Lima to a multicultural family and grew up moving around the world every few years—living everywhere from Africa, the Middle East, the Caribbean, Europe, and eventually the United States. I learned early how to adapt, connect, speak multiple languages, and find home almost anywhere… but I also learned how easy it is to become deeply connected to the world around you while slowly becoming disconnected from yourself.

That paradox eventually became my greatest teacher.

Health, movement, music, nature, and feeling good were core values in my upbringing, and over the past 30+ years those values have evolved into a life of botanical formulation, plant medicine education, cannabis innovation, music, performance, community building, and creating experiences that help people reconnect to themselves.

For a while, life pulled me off the dance floor and deep into healing, sacred medicine, inner work, and remembrance. And now, as I move through another powerful chapter of transformation, I feel the edge returning—technology, rhythm, adventure, human performance, sensuality, celebration, and the raw aliveness that has always been part of who I am.

Today, through La Clé Wellness, music, movement, education, and community experiences, my work is really about helping people remember that wellness doesn’t have to live in one box… it can live in the kitchen, the forest, the lab, the dance floor, the breath, the body, and in the small everyday moments that bring us back to ourselves.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
I wouldn’t say it’s been a smooth road—though I’m deeply grateful for every chapter.

One of my biggest challenges has been learning how to follow through… and I think a lot of that goes back to growing up moving around the world every couple of years. When you’re constantly arriving somewhere new or preparing to leave, you become really good at adapting, connecting, and reinventing yourself… but not always at completing.

Over the years I’ve worked across fashion, production, hospitality, music, performance, wellness, botanical formulation, and cannabis—from producing music festivals in the mid-’90s and helping bring some of the first major international electronic artists into South America… to designing clothing and owning a hyper-local boutique, to singing, songwriting, and performance, bartending, building community experiences, extensive work with botanicals, and eventually co-owning a cannabis farm.

For a long time, it felt like I had all these incredible threads… but they weren’t yet woven into one rope.

The real work has been going within and realizing that none of those paths were random—they were all preparing me for the same thing.

As someone who’s spent over 30 years working with plants, people, performance, and transformation, I sometimes joke that I’ve been in my own curing process—much like beautifully grown cannabis that needs time, patience, and the right environment to fully reveal its character.

And now, for maybe the first time in my life, I feel those threads truly coming together through La Clé Wellness, music, movement, technology, nature, community, and the land stewardship project we’re developing here in Central Florida… not as separate identities, but as one living body of work.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
What I do is difficult to place in one box—and honestly, I’ve come to realize that’s part of the gift.

At the heart of my work, I help people reconnect to their own intelligence—through plants, food, movement, music, breath, ritual, human performance, and meaningful community experiences.

For over 30 years, I’ve worked with botanicals, formulation, sensory experience, wellness education, and more recently cannabis innovation—developing infused products, topicals, tinctures, terpene-forward formulations, and experiences that bridge science, nature, and human connection through La Clé Wellness.

At the same time, I’ve spent much of my life in music, performance, event production, hospitality, and multicultural environments—speaking multiple languages, living across continents, and learning how people heal, celebrate, connect, and transform across cultures.

What I specialize in is seeing connections where others often see separate industries—nature and technology, sacred medicine and celebration, performance and recovery, luxury and simplicity, science and intuition.

What people tend to know me for is my ability to make people feel both deeply seen and fully alive… whether that’s through a formulation, a conversation, a circle, a meal, a dance floor, a wellness reset, or simply helping someone reconnect with what their body has been trying to tell them.

What I’m most proud of is that after a lifetime of movement, reinvention, and deep inner work, I’m no longer trying to fit into someone else’s category. I’m building a body of work that feels fully integrated—through La Clé Wellness, music, education, community, and the land stewardship project we’re developing in Central Florida.

And what sets me apart?
I don’t just study transformation… I’ve lived it—across cultures, industries, stages, farms, kitchens, labs, forests, dance floors, and now, increasingly, through land.

How do you define success?
Success, to me, is having the freedom to move with life rather than constantly feeling controlled by it… while also having created something of real value—something people genuinely appreciate, benefit from, and are willing to invest their time, trust, and energy into.

It’s the ability to wake up and choose how I spend my time… while knowing that the gifts, experiences, and wisdom I’ve cultivated are creating meaningful impact in the lives of others.

For me, success is freedom… balanced by purpose. Flow… balanced by follow-through. And building a life where nature, love, creativity, wellness, adventure, and contribution are not separate things—but one integrated way of living.
