Rising Stars: Meet Sharveal Johnson of National

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sharveal Johnson.

Hi Sharveal, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I started with a vision much bigger than my circumstances. From the beginning, I knew I wanted to build something meaningful through music, entertainment, and business — not just for myself, but to inspire people and create opportunities for others.

I began by investing in my creativity, learning the industry, building relationships, and staying consistent even when progress was slow. Every challenge taught me discipline, patience, and how to think strategically. Over time, I expanded from simply creating music into developing a larger brand and business vision centered around leadership, innovation, and impact.

Today, I’m continuing to build companies, creative platforms, and opportunities that reflect excellence, purpose, and long-term growth. My journey has been driven by faith, resilience, and the willingness to keep evolving while staying true to who I am.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No, it definitely hasn’t been a smooth road , but every challenge added depth to who I am today. I started with vision, ambition, and belief in something bigger than myself, even when the resources and support weren’t always there.

There were moments of financial pressure, setbacks in business, disappointments, and people who couldn’t fully see the vision I carried. Building something meaningful from the ground up requires sacrifice, discipline, and the ability to stay focused when things get uncomfortable.

One of the biggest lessons was learning how to turn pressure into power. I had to grow not only as an artist and entrepreneur, but as a man and leader. Every obstacle refined my mindset, sharpened my strategy, and strengthened my confidence.

Today, I appreciate the journey because it gave me determination, elegance under pressure, and the hunger to continue building at a high level. The road wasn’t perfect , but it made my story powerful.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
Throughout my career, I’ve dedicated myself to building not only music, but culture, vision, and legacy. I serve as a marketing executive, music executive, artist, songwriter, producer, author, screenwriter, and director — each role allowing me to create experiences that connect with people on a deeper level.

Beyond being the face of PNB Empire Records, I’ve focused on developing a brand that represents excellence, originality, and elevation in entertainment and business. My work blends creativity with strategy, allowing me to approach every project not just as an artist, but as an architect of long-term vision.

One accomplishment I’m especially proud of is becoming the first independent artist and executive to secure a liquor brand sponsorship and partnership with Smoke Lab Vodka. That moment represented more than business — it symbolized the power of independent ownership, branding, and believing in your vision before the world fully sees it.

What sets me apart is my ability to think beyond trends. I don’t simply create for the moment — I build with intention, legacy, and global impact in mind. Whether through music, film, branding, or business development, I aim to inspire people to think bigger, move with purpose, and embrace excellence without limits.

Do you have any advice for those just starting out?
My advice to anyone just starting out is to protect your vision, stay consistent, and never allow temporary circumstances to define your future. In the beginning, many people will not fully understand what you’re building ,and that’s perfectly fine. Greatness is often misunderstood before it’s respected.

I would tell them to focus on mastering their craft, building genuine relationships, and learning the business just as deeply as the talent itself. Creativity opens doors, but discipline, strategy, and character are what sustain success.

One thing I wish I understood earlier is that timing matters just as much as talent. You cannot rush legacy. Every season, including the difficult ones, is shaping you into the person capable of carrying greater responsibility and influence.

I’d also remind them not to compare their journey to anyone else’s. The world rewards originality, confidence, and authenticity. Stay patient, continue evolving, and never be afraid to bet on yourself, even when the vision feels larger than your current reality.
