Conversations with Claudia Domo

Today we’d like to introduce you to Claudia Domo.

Hi Claudia, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I was born in Peru into a world filled with creativity, elegance, design, and philanthropy. My father is an architect, and my mother worked in the fashion world while dedicating much of her life to helping others. Between architecture, fashion, art, and charity events, I grew up understanding that beauty was never only about what we see, it was about how we make people feel.

I attended a British American school, later studied Business and Marketing, and eventually earned a Master’s degree in International Protocol and Etiquette. But long before I understood business, I understood dreams. I spent four years modeling before opening my own PR and Marketing company while attending school, stepping into a fast paced world of events, branding, luxury, and human relationships.

Then life changed, after a painful breakup, I made the bold decision to leave everything behind and move alone to Los Angeles to start over. That chapter transformed me. I became a private etiquette teacher, published etiquette bedtime stories for children, and even taught etiquette on a reality television show. At the same time, I was juggling multiple worlds, working with foundations in business development and fundraising, producing events, working in sales for an environmentally friendly company, later becoming Vice President of Sales for an IT staffing company, while quietly building my future in real estate and interior design.

There were moments of uncertainty, reinvention, exhaustion, and growth. But every challenge somehow pushed me closer to my purpose. By 2017, I made another life changing decision: to dedicate myself fully to real estate, interior design, and philanthropy. I served on charitable boards, volunteered whenever I could, and became increasingly passionate about creating spaces and experiences that emotionally moved people.

Then came 2020, during the pandemic, I moved to Miami, a city that would completely change my life. It was there that I met my husband, became even more involved in the community, and in 2022 officially became a broker in Florida and joined Rotary International.

But deep inside, I knew there was still something bigger calling me. For years, I had witnessed how art, music, beauty, and human connection could emotionally heal people in ways words sometimes cannot. I had seen it in hospitals, at charity events, through children, family going through chemo, through loss, through life itself. And although life did not allow me to have children of my own, that pain slowly transformed into purpose.

In 2025, I founded Healing with Art and Music, an organization created to unite charities, artists, musicians, medical professionals, and communities through the healing power of creativity. What started as an idea in my heart became a movement bringing together fashion, music, philanthropy, medicine, and hope.

Now, in 2026, I continue to work closely with my husband while growing my foundation, expanding my real estate and interior design career, and finally returning to one of my first passions: writing etiquette books once again.

When I look back at my life, every chapter; fashion, heartbreak, business, reinvention, philanthropy, design, and healing. It feels connected by one single mission, to create beauty with purpose, inspire human connection, and remind people that art, music, kindness, and loving who you are truly have the power to heal.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Like many people, my life has looked glamorous from the outside at times, but behind every chapter there were struggles, sacrifices, heartbreaks, reinventions, and moments where I had to completely rebuild myself.
One of the hardest moments in my life was leaving everything behind and moving alone to Los Angeles after a painful breakup. I had to start over emotionally, professionally, and financially while trying to stay strong and optimistic. There were moments where I questioned myself, moments where I felt lonely, and moments where I did not know exactly where life was taking me. But deep inside, I always felt there was a bigger purpose guiding me.
I have also reinvented myself many times throughout my career. I went from fashion and modeling, to PR and marketing, to etiquette, sales, business development, real estate, interior design, and philanthropy. Every industry came with different challenges, different pressures, and different people. I had to constantly prove myself, adapt, and keep moving forward even when I was exhausted. There were years where I was working multiple jobs and building businesses while trying to create a future for myself. People often only see the final result, but they do not see the sleepless nights, the uncertainty, the stress, or the emotional weight behind it.
One of the deepest struggles in my heart was not having children of my own. I had a cancer scare and had to have surgery, the doctors said I needed a hysterectomy. For a long time, that pain was very difficult for me because I have always wanted children and felt like I had so much love to give. But somehow, over time, I realized that maybe God had another plan for me. That pain slowly transformed into purpose through Healing with Art and Music and through the work I now do helping children, families, and communities heal through art and music. Music has always helped me.
Another struggle was learning that not everyone will understand your vision, especially when your dreams are bigger than what people can see at the moment. There were times I felt misunderstood, judged, underestimated, betrayed or unsupported. Building something meaningful can feel very lonely before others believe in it too.
Looking back now, every difficult chapter taught me resilience, compassion, faith, and gratitude. Every heartbreak, every reinvention, every challenge somehow shaped the woman I am today. And although the road was not always easy, I would not change it, because every struggle eventually led me closer to my mission: creating beauty, connection, healing, and purpose through everything I do. It’s still not easy, but it feels right.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I have been very blessed to build a career that combines many of the things I enjoy, real estate, interior design, philanthropy, etiquette, branding, events, and human connection. Throughout my life, I have never liked putting myself into just one box because I truly believe creativity and business can beautifully coexist.

Today, I work primarily in real estate and interior design, helping people create spaces and lifestyles that feel elegant, meaningful, and emotionally inspiring. I have always believed a home is much more than a property, it is a reflection of who we are, how we live, and how we want to feel. My background in design, fashion, etiquette, branding, and luxury experiences naturally shaped the way I approach both real estate and interiors.

I am also the founder of Healing with Art and Music, a nonprofit organization dedicated to bringing awareness and support to charities that heal children and communities through the power of art and music. This mission is incredibly personal to me because I have seen how creativity, beauty, music, and human connection, being part of a community can emotionally heal people in ways that words sometimes cannot.

Earlier in my career, I worked in PR and marketing, business development, luxury events, etiquette education, and sales leadership, including serving as Vice President of Sales for an IT staffing company. Those experiences taught me how to connect people, communicate vision, and create experiences that leave an emotional impact.

I would say I am most proud of my ability to reinvent myself while staying true to who I am. Every chapter of my life. From fashion and etiquette to real estate and philanthropy, somehow came together to create the work I do today.

What sets me apart is that I lead with both creativity and heart. I do not simply focus on transactions, titles, or appearances. I focus on people, emotions, atmosphere, beauty, and purpose. Whether I am designing a space, organizing a philanthropic event, teaching etiquette, or bringing organizations together through my foundation, my goal is always the same: to create meaningful experiences that inspire connection, elegance, healing, and joy.
I also believe my life experiences gave me a unique perspective. I have had to reinvent myself many times, navigate different industries, overcome personal struggles, and build new chapters from the ground up. That journey taught me resilience, empathy, adaptability, and the importance of creating a life with purpose.
At the end of the day, what I am most proud of is not only what I have built professionally, but the fact that I have been able to use my experiences, creativity, and relationships to hopefully make people feel inspired, seen, uplifted, and connected.

What was your favorite childhood memory?
Some of my favorite childhood memory was spending time with my adult family, especially my great grand aunts. I still remember going to their home and hearing them play the piano, sing, and paint. I think that is where my love for art, music, beauty, and creativity truly began. I also loved going with my father to see his architectural projects. Watching him create spaces from imagination fascinated me.
Looking back now, I realize I always loved spending time with the adults in my family. I loved listening to their conversations, hearing their stories, watching how they entertained, created, hosted, and connected with people. Those experiences taught me so much about culture, elegance, relationships, and human connection long before I fully understood it.
