Life & Work with Mitchy Elie of Miami / South Florida

Today we’d like to introduce you to Mitchy Elie.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I got started by first having the desire to get on stage. From there, i attended as much open mics as possible to prefect the art of stand up comedy. All while working full time as a fitness trainer. Today, I have been featured in many shows across Miami Dade and Broward. As I continue to grow along with the comedy scene in Miami, there are quite a few steps to go til I am considered one of the greats. Until then, stay tuned.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Not at all, easy is a path with no reward. There have been many struggles along the way. From having to balance a full time job owning my own business as a fitness trainer (A Touch of solace) is the name of my company. To having to push my name out there as a new comedian on to the scene.. because I started four years ago.. (still to be considered new in stand up comedy) from the demands of clients In the gym, to expected laughs on stage, it is all a great balancing act for me..

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am a stand up comedian, as well as a host. I specialize in crowd work, some self deprecation, self reflective, as well as observational comedy. What sets me apart from the others are no matter how many people are in the audience, i will pull the attention of those individuals thru unique interactions, and jokes in which the audience can quickly visualize..creating a fun, and funny show for those in attendance.

What matters most to you?
Family is what matters most to me.. without our foundation, we are susceptible to fall without anyone catching us.
