Inspiring Conversations with Katrina Friedberg of iGlo Aesthetics & Wellness

Today we’d like to introduce you to Katrina Friedberg.

Hi Katrina, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I didn’t build iGlō Aesthetics overnight.

I was a young mom with no college degree, just trying to survive and create a better life for my kids. I remember looking at them and realizing I wanted to become someone they could look up to. Someone who showed them that where you start does not define where you end up.

So I went back to school and became a surgical nurse.

The hospital taught me discipline, resilience, and how to care for people during some of the hardest moments of their lives. But deep down, I always knew I wanted more. I wanted to build something of my own. Something that combined medicine, artistry, confidence, and connection.

Then COVID happened.

Like so many people, it forced me to reevaluate everything. And during that time, I made one of the scariest decisions of my life: I went back to school to become a Nurse Practitioner and follow my dream outside of the hospital world.

I was balancing motherhood, work, exhaustion, finances, and self-doubt while trying to build a future I couldn’t fully see yet. There were moments I questioned myself constantly. Moments I felt behind. Moments I wanted to quit.

But I kept going.

I poured myself into aesthetics, regenerative medicine, injectables, lasers, collagen stimulation, wellness, and creating an experience where patients felt genuinely cared for.

People see the office, the treatments, the growth, and the social media now. But they don’t always see the sacrifices behind it. The sleepless nights. The fear. The pressure of building something from the ground up while raising children and trying not to fail.

Everything I built came from taking risks on myself when nothing was guaranteed.

So having opportunities now where magazines are reaching out and recognizing what I created feels surreal. Not because it happened easily —but because it didn’t.

And if my story can teach my kids anything, I hope it’s this:

You do not have to stay where life started you. You can reinvent yourself at any stage of life if you’re willing to work for it and believe in yourself when nobody else does.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Absolutely.

It’s been incredibly difficult at times. Building something from the ground up while being a mother, working in healthcare, going back to school, and trying to grow a business simultaneously pushed me mentally, emotionally, and financially in ways I never expected.

One of the biggest obstacles was self-doubt. There were many moments where I questioned if I was capable of doing all of this, especially entering an industry that can be extremely competitive and overwhelming. Social media makes success look instant, but behind the scenes there were long nights, sacrifices, fear, and a lot of pressure.

Another challenge was learning how to balance motherhood with ambition. I carried a lot of guilt trying to be fully present for my children while also chasing goals that required so much of me. There were times I felt stretched too thin and wondered if I was failing at both.

Financially, it was also a huge risk. Investing into education, advanced trainings, equipment, products, and building a practice requires an enormous amount of faith in yourself before you even see results. There were moments where I felt terrified wondering if it would all work out.

And professionally, aesthetics is not just about beauty — it’s medicine, artistry, psychology, communication, and constantly evolving education. I’ve had to develop resilience, learn from mistakes, manage complications, handle criticism, and continue showing up confidently even during difficult seasons.

But every obstacle taught me something valuable. It made me stronger, more compassionate, more disciplined, and more grateful for everything I’ve built. I think the challenges are actually what shaped the vision behind iGlō Aesthetics and the kind of provider I wanted to become.

We’ve been impressed with iGlo Aesthetics & Wellness, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
iGlō Aesthetics & Wellness was built on resilience, reinvention, and a passion for helping people feel confident from the inside out. What began as a dream from a young mother with no college degree eventually became a luxury aesthetics and wellness practice rooted in education, artistry, and patient-centered care.

After years working as a surgical nurse, I decided during COVID to take a leap of faith, return to school to become a Nurse Practitioner, and pursue my vision outside of the hospital setting. That vision became iGlō Aesthetics & Wellness — a space where medicine, wellness, regenerative aesthetics, and human connection all come together.

We specialize in advanced aesthetic and regenerative treatments including injectables, collagen stimulation, skin rejuvenation, lasers, wellness therapies, peptides, weight loss, and customized treatment plans designed to help patients age confidently and naturally. What sets us apart is our holistic and ethical approach. We focus heavily on education, facial balance, long-term collagen health, and creating natural results rather than chasing trends or overdone aesthetics.

At iGlō, we believe confidence is built over time through consistency, prevention, wellness, and individualized care. Many of our treatments focus on stimulating the body’s own regenerative processes through modalities like biostimulators, regenerative therapies, advanced skin resurfacing, and combination treatment plans tailored specifically to each patient.

One thing I’m most proud of is the trust we’ve built with our patients and the community. Behind the growth of this brand is a story of sacrifice, motherhood, resilience, entrepreneurship, and perseverance through challenges that many people never see. Building this business from the ground up has not been easy, but every obstacle shaped the vision and heart behind the practice today.

More than anything, I want readers to know that iGlō Aesthetics & Wellness is not just about beauty — it’s about empowerment, confidence, education, and helping people become the best version of themselves while still looking like themselves.

What do you like and dislike about the city?
What I love most about Miami Lakes and South Florida in general is the diversity, energy, and culture. There’s something very inspiring about being surrounded by people from so many different backgrounds, all chasing big dreams and constantly evolving. The beauty industry and wellness space here are incredibly innovative, which pushes me to continue growing, learning, and bringing the latest treatments and technology to my patients. I also love the sense of community and how much people here value confidence, self-care, and feeling their best.

What I dislike most is probably how fast-paced and competitive everything can feel at times. South Florida can be very appearance-driven, and social media sometimes creates unrealistic expectations when it comes to beauty, aging, and success. As a provider, I think it’s important to educate patients on healthy, natural, and realistic approaches rather than quick fixes or trends. I’ve learned that staying authentic and grounded is one of the most important things while building a business here.
