Today we’d like to introduce you to Bryant Anthony.
Bryant, please kick things off for us by telling us about yourself and your journey so far.
Born and raised in Cleveland Ohio, which essentially help me create my style, shaped me into who I am and motive me today. Miami taught me how to kick it up and secure my hustle on a business professional side. Life growing up wasn’t always easy, my style derives from messages out of the streets and lessons learned by them. I was a fighter growing up, a little hard headed. I thought I had life figured out at young age. I was wrong, and through a series of events which I won’t talk about I had some life lessons thrown my way. Life has a way of making you wake up. This world shows so little love, so I made it my obligation to spread more love in a world that shows so little. Life is all about balance. You don’t want to be the bad guy, but you never want to be the victim either. I have found my balance, and through my art I can display it.
Can you give our readers some background on your art?
I am an artist there is no limit to what I do. I learned multiple mediums because I had to solve creative problems. I have a start-up creative agency called Dolphin Black Studios. We focus on brand development and image consulting. We take care of all of your creative problems, anything between your logo, and business cards to look books and pitch decks. You have a creative problem I guaranteed we have a solution. This is the day job.
Lately I have been doing more of what feeds my soul! I have been painting a lot more since 2014. Getting accepted by Conception Gallery to do Art Basel 2014 that year opened up doors and opportunities. My mediums of choice are primarily acrylics, aerosol, and various mixed mediums on canvas. I like to experiment sometimes. The world can be a heartless place, lacking love. I felt it was my obligation to spread more love in a world that shows so little. This is where my signature heart pattern came from. My iconic ski mask represents no matter how much a loving a person you can be sometimes you become a product of your environment, we all have a thug, goon, or little crook inside of us, some more than others, balance is important, understanding who you are and how you want to leave you mark on the world is key to life grand design.
What would you recommend to an artist new to the city, or to art, in terms of meeting and connecting with other artists and creatives?
Not sure about those artist, it has never been lonely for me. I always have family or friends around. A lot of my friends are creatives, my word to the other artist / creatives set those egos to the side and speak to one another. I have built more relationships just off of communication. Your never alone in this world unless you want to be alone. Its so many art blogs, conventions, art festivals, etc. We as people need social interaction sometimes, get up, get out, and explore!
