Today we’d like to introduce you to Misty Fairbanks.
Misty, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
WildMoon was born from a lifelong love of creativity, beautiful details, and creating moments people never forget. While I spent years building my career in the corporate world, creativity was always the part of me that naturally stood out. From styling gatherings to designing florals for friends and family, I found so much joy in turning everyday moments into something beautiful and memorable.
What started as a hidden talent and creative outlet quickly became something bigger — thanks to the encouragement and inspiration from my family. They reminded me that passion deserves space to grow, and WildMoon became the perfect blend of heart, creativity, and purpose.
WildMoon is an homage to my kids — my biggest inspiration and the magic behind everything I create. They inspire me daily to lead with love, embrace creativity, and celebrate life’s moments both big and small.
From intimate gatherings and milestone celebrations to elevated everyday florals, WildMoon is all about effortless beauty, intentional design, and experiences that feel warm, stylish, and unforgettable. Every arrangement is thoughtfully created to bring a little more joy, beauty, and magic into the world.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It definitely has not been a completely smooth road — and honestly, I think that’s part of building something meaningful. WildMoon is still very fresh and new, so I’ve already experienced quite a few challenges in just the first few months. From learning how to balance the creative side with the business side, to navigating pricing, time management, marketing, and building brand awareness, there have been a lot of moments where I’ve had to figure things out as I go.
Coming from a corporate background, stepping into entrepreneurship has been both exciting and intimidating at times. You wear every hat when it’s your own business, and there’s a lot of pressure that comes with wanting everything to be perfect. But every challenge has taught me something valuable, and I truly try to look at each obstacle as a learning experience rather than a setback.
More than anything, I want to build a brand that feels authentic, intentional, and lasting — not just something pretty, but something people genuinely connect with. I know growth takes time, and I’m embracing the process while continuing to learn, evolve, and pour my heart into WildMoon every step of the way.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
WildMoon is a floral and event styling brand focused on creating modern, thoughtful designs that make people feel celebrated. I specialize in florals for weddings, showers, private events, corporate gatherings, and everyday occasions, along with interactive bouquet bars and floral subscriptions for homes and businesses. My style leans organic, elevated, and intentionally curated while still feeling warm and approachable.
What I’m most proud of is turning something that started as a natural creative talent into a growing business with real purpose behind it. For years, I worked in the corporate world while creativity remained such a huge part of who I was behind the scenes. Building WildMoon has allowed me to finally bring those two sides together — combining organization, professionalism, and attention to detail with creativity and design.
I think what sets WildMoon apart is the balance between luxury and accessibility. I want my work to feel elevated and special without feeling intimidating or out of reach. Creating “affordable luxury” is really important to me because I believe beautiful experiences and florals should be something people can enjoy and connect with at all different stages of life and celebration.
I also put a lot of focus on creating a personalized experience for each client. I genuinely care about understanding someone’s vision and making it feel authentic to them instead of creating something that feels overly trendy or one-size-fits-all. Even though my business is still very new, I’m building it with long-term intention, heart, and a strong focus on creating a brand people trust and remember.
Can you talk to us about how you think about risk?
I think starting any business requires a certain level of risk, especially when you’re stepping into something creative and deeply personal. For me, one of the biggest risks was allowing myself to fully pursue something outside of the corporate path I had always known. The corporate world gave me stability, structure, and experience, so choosing to invest my time, energy, and finances into building WildMoon felt both exciting and vulnerable at the same time.
I wouldn’t necessarily call myself someone who takes reckless risks, but I do believe in taking meaningful ones — especially when they align with passion, growth, and long-term purpose. Starting WildMoon meant putting myself out there creatively, trusting my instincts, and believing that something I loved could grow into a real brand and business. That can be intimidating, especially in such a competitive industry, but I’ve learned that growth rarely happens inside your comfort zone.
