Rising Stars: Meet Natasha Melina Argudo of Miami (Kendall)

Today we’d like to introduce you to Natasha Melina Argudo.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I started my journey driven by a deep love for music, storytelling, and culture. Growing up in Queens, NY, as the daughter of Ecuadorian parents, I was always surrounded by diverse sounds and perspectives that shaped how I see the world. Early on, I explored different sides of media—from radio and television to journalism—which gave me a strong foundation in communication and storytelling.

My career really began to take shape when I stepped into public relations. As a publicist at a Miami-based agency, I had the opportunity to work with incredible artists like Maldy, Chimbala, and Cyn Santana. That experience taught me how to navigate the fast-paced music industry, securing national and international press, producing high-profile events, and helping artists grow their brands in meaningful ways.

At the same time, I pursued my passion for writing, becoming a published journalist with bylines in Remezcla, Wonderland, and Mitú. I’ve had the chance to interview influential Latin artists like Darell, Alexis y Fido, and De La Ghetto, which allowed me to connect more deeply with the culture and stories behind the music.

Most recently, I led public relations and marketing initiatives at Chosen Few, where I oversaw brand development, artist visibility, and catalog distribution. Currently, I’m a publicist at Guerrera PR, supporting a roster that includes Jessie Reyez, Omar Apollo, Tiago PZK, Lasso, Monsieur Periné, Álvaro Díaz, Ca7riel y Paco Amoroso, Milo J, and more.

Everything I’ve done has been rooted in my passion for connecting artists and audiences. I also continue to enjoy freelance journalism and learning to make sourdough recipes in my spare time.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No, it definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. There have been moments where doors closed on me, but I’ve always kept my foot in the doorway so they never fully shut.

During the pandemic, I lost my events-focused role at Univision, which was a major turning point. I was living in Queens, NY and then Orlando, and it honestly felt like there was a real distance between me and my dreams. I couldn’t fully pursue everything I wanted in the music industry without being in Miami full-time. When I lost my job, I pivoted and started interviewing artists independently for my own brand. That led me deeper into journalism, and eventually into public relations, everything really built on itself and led me to where I am today.

There were also personal challenges. I had moments where I felt down and uncertain, and I had to do a lot of internal work to stay strong and keep going. It wasn’t always easy, but I stayed consistent, kept knocking on doors, and pushed through even when things felt unclear. Looking back, those experiences really built my resilience and shaped how I move today.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I work in public relations and journalism within the music industry, where I focus on storytelling, media strategy, and artist development. I specialize in helping artists shape their narratives and connect with audiences in an authentic way, whether that’s through press, editorial coverage, or overall brand positioning.

I’m known for my passion when it comes to storytelling and for being unapologetically myself in the way I work and build relationships. I lead with both strategy and heart, which allows me to really understand the artists I work with and translate their vision into something the world can connect to.

What I’m most proud of is being able to help tell Latine stories on a global scale, putting things into words when artists might not always have the platform or language to do so themselves, and helping them reach levels they may not have even imagined yet. At the end of the day, I’m a genuine music fan, and I think that’s what really sets me apart. I love when my work connects those worlds for me.

Can you talk to us about how you think about risk?
I think risk-taking, for me, has always come down to trusting my instincts even when I don’t have everything figured out. I believe in betting on myself, especially when something feels aligned.

One of the biggest risks I took was during the pandemic, when I started reaching out to artists, managers, and publicists to ask for Zoom interviews. I had never formally interviewed anyone before, but I knew I was curious, I was a fan, and I could hold meaningful conversations with artists I genuinely admired. I didn’t know how people would perceive me sending those messages or posting my interviews online, and I was definitely nervous about judgment. But I did it anyway, and that decision ended up opening the door to journalism and eventually public relations.
