Founded in 2022 by, LEED Accredited Professional and University of Florida Alumni, Colin Ewing. Colin has over 20 years of Construction Management and General Contracting experience. What started as a small operation driven by hands-on experience and a commitment to doing things the right way steadily grew through word-of-mouth, repeat business, and a reputation for delivering results. By staying detail-oriented, adapting to challenges, and investing in the right people and processes, the company continues to expand its capabilities and project scope over time. Today, Colony Construction Group stands as a trusted name in the industry, known for professionalism, consistency, and a dedication to bringing every project to life with precision and care.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
In the beginning, one of the biggest hurdles was building trust and establishing a reputation in a highly competitive industry where relationships and reliability mean everything. As the company grew, managing rapid growth, maintaining quality control, and finding the right team members who shared the same standards and work ethic became ongoing challenges. Navigating material delays, labor shortages, changing project timelines, and economic fluctuations also tested the company’s adaptability.
What helped Colony Construction Group continue moving forward was our commitment to communication, accountability, and consistently delivering quality work even during difficult periods. Those challenges ultimately helped shape the company into a stronger, more organized, and more experienced operation, and today the brand takes pride not only in the projects it completes, but in the reputation and relationships it has built along the way.
