Today we’d like to introduce you to Madeline Montgomery.
Hi Madeline, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I’m the owner and lead photographer behind Madeline Paige Photography, a luxury wedding photography brand based in Southwest Florida and traveling wherever love takes me. Looking back, photography has honestly been a huge part of my story for as long as I can remember. Before I even owned a digital camera, I was the kid constantly running around with a disposable camera in my hand., likely from Exxards (yeah, talk about a throw back). My mom would get my film developed and it was usually a chaotic mix of dogs, palm trees, sunsets, and quite a few photos of only people’s lower halves because I was so little at the time. Looking back now, it’s funny– but I think that’s where my love for documenting life really started.
As I got older, that creative outlet slowly turned into something much bigger. I became deeply drawn to storytelling, emotion, fashion, and the idea of preserving moments in a way that feels timeless. What started as photographing people I loved eventually evolved into building a business focused on creating an elevated, intentional experience for couples who truly value photography and connection.
Over the years, I’ve really learned the importance of leaning into my own style instead of trying to follow trends. I fell in love with editorial imagery, nostalgic film-inspired vibes, authentic emotion, and creating photographs that felt cinematic while still deeply personal. That approach has opened doors I once only dreamed about, from photographing beautiful weddings across the United States and beyond to having my work featured in publications I’ve admired for years.
At the same time, becoming a mom has completely changed the way I view both life and photography. Motherhood taught me how quickly moments pass and how important it is to preserve them. Balancing entrepreneurship and motherhood definitely comes with long days and late nights, but it’s also been one of the most rewarding parts of my journey. I’m incredibly proud to have built a career that allows me to pursue my passion while also being present for my family. In many ways, becoming a mother actually made me an even more emotional and intentional storyteller behind the camera.
One of the things I love most about this career is that no two stories are ever the same. I’ve photographed intimate celebrations, luxury weddings, destination weekends, and emotional moments that still stay with me long after the wedding day is over. At the end of the day, I feel incredibly lucky that the little girl taking blurry sunset photos on disposable cameras grew up to build a career centered around preserving people’s most meaningful moments.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Building a business…especially a creative business, definitely hasn’t been a perfectly smooth road, but I think that’s part of what makes it so rewarding. Like a lot of photographers, there were seasons where I struggled with comparison, burnout, and trying to balance creativity with the pressure that comes from running a business in such a social-media-driven industry. When your work and your life are constantly online, it can be really easy to feel like you always need to be creating more, posting more, doing more, or keeping up with what everyone else is doing.
There were also moments early on where I doubted myself or questioned whether I was “good enough” to pursue photography at the level I dreamed about, I questioned if I’d ever really make a name for myself, or if it was all for not. I think many creatives quietly deal with that pressure, especially when you care deeply about your work. Learning how to protect my mental health, set boundaries, and trust my own creative instincts has really been a huge part of my journey.
At the same time, those challenges really shaped me into the photographer and business owner I am today. I’ve learned that growth doesn’t come from constantly comparing yourself to others, it comes from staying authentic to your vision and continuing to evolve. I also think becoming a mom gave me an entirely different perspective on balance and success. It taught me to slow down a little, appreciate the ever changing season I’m in, and focus on building a business that feels sustainable, fulfilling, and aligned with the life I want outside of work too.
And honestly, sometimes you just have to laugh through the chaos a little. Weddings are beautiful, emotional, high-energy events, and entrepreneurship can definitely feel the same way sometimes. But I truly love what I do, and even the difficult seasons have played a huge role in getting me to where I am now.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I’m a luxury wedding photographer specializing in editorial, emotion-driven imagery for couples who want their photographs to feel both elevated and deeply personal. While I’m based in Southwest Florida, I travel frequently for weddings and absolutely love documenting celebrations in new places. My style blends candid storytelling with an editorial approach, creating images that feel timeless, cinematic, and full of genuine emotion.
I’m probably most known for the way I capture people naturally while still making everything feel refined and intentional. I love the balance between artful imagery and authentic moment; the beautifully styled details mixed with the unplanned in-between moments that end up meaning the most in the years to come. A lot of my inspiration comes from film photography, fashion, old rom-com movies, nostalgic tones and real human connection.
One thing I’m incredibly proud of is the experience I’ve built for my couples. I never want clients to feel like they’re “just another wedding.” I’m very hands on throughout the entire process, from timeline planning to helping create an atmosphere where people feel comfortable being themselves in front of the camera. I think that trust is a huge part of what allows me to create emotional and honest imagery.
I’m also really proud of how organically this business has grown over the years. To go from the little girl photographing sunsets on disposable cameras to having my work featured in publications and photographing weddings across different states still feels surreal sometimes, seriously someone pinch me.
What sets me apart most is probably the combination of luxury and relatability. I care deeply about creating beautiful, high-end imagery, but I also want people to feel comfortable, understood, and genuinely taken care of. I’m not just there to take photos– I’m there to help guide the day, calm nerves, hype my couples up, fix veils, carry bouquets, and document moments in a way that feels true to them. I think people can feel when someone genuinely loves what they do, and I pour my whole heart into this career.
Any big plans?
I’m really excited about this next season of both life and business. Professionally, one of my biggest goals is continuing to expand the travel side of my brand and photograph more destination weddings and celebrations in new places. I absolutely love the creativity and inspiration that comes from traveling, experiencing different locations, and documenting love stories in environments that feel unique to each couple. New York in the fall is definitely high on my dream list, along with more coastal destinations and iconic historical venues across the country.
At the same time, I’m also looking forward to continuing to grow my family and embracing this season of motherhood alongside entrepreneurship. Becoming a mom has changed so much for me in the best way possible, and I’m excited for all the future moments that come with balancing both career and family life.
More than anything, I’m just genuinely excited to see where life takes me. One thing this career has taught me is that some of the most beautiful opportunities come when you least expect them. A few years ago, I could have never imagined the places photography would take me, the people I’d meet, or the stories I’d get to be part of. I feel incredibly grateful for everything this journey has brought into my life so far, and I’m really looking forward to what’s still ahead.
